Greetings! 2008 is here and I wish you a safe and very Happy New Year! The holidays really snuck up on me this season, and from what I hear it was just as sneaky with a lot of others. It doesn't seem that long ago that I was sitting in my pajamas next to our Christmas tree, with my brother, who was playing with his new toy truck and my sister, holding her new doll and me cradling my brand new Autoharp. It was all I ever dreamed of and wanted for Christmas that year. I still think about that Autoharp and wonder if I should have stuck with it. Well that was then and this is now, and music has always been a big part of my life, so much so that it became the central focus of my artwork. If you love music as much as I do, I hope you'll come out this month and see me. There's one show closing and another opening. With fondest regards and I hope to see you soon! "Jazz Impressions" by Bettie Grace Miner presented by Alta Vista Gallery November 17 through December 31, 2007 ~ Held over to January 7, 2008 The opening reception at Alta Vista Gallery was such a blast. Lots of friends came to hang out, drink some wine (Thanks to Wine and Jazz), listen to smooth jazz Christmas Carols and oh yeah.... check out some new jazz art by Bettie Grace Miner. If you didn't get a chance to drop by, please grab an umbrella and head over this weekend because Monday the show closes. Bettie Grace Miner - Jazz Art Show January 18-20, 2008 All Star Music Festival ~ Town & Country Resort, San Diego, California The All Star Smooth Cruise and Music Festival, featuring an incredible line-up of R&B and Smooth Jazz, is opening in San Diego and then sailing down to Mexico. Bettie Grace Miner is joining the festivities at the Town & Country Resort in San Diego with an art exhibit of jazz and music inspired imagery. For three days, Friday January 18th through Sunday January 20, 2008, you are invited to see the art exhibit and meet the artist. The exhibit will include hand embellished giclees on canvas, fine art prints, and other jazz art merchandise. Bettie will also present the new 2008 commemorative poster celebrating the All Star Smooth Cruise and Music Festival. Posters from 2005 and 2007 will also be available. Special Announcement: If you were on the 2007 cruise see Bettie for a free 2007 poster. More news, information and a sneak preview of this year's poster will be included in the next newsletter.
