Greetings! We're getting off to a good start with the new year! I just wanted to let you know that I'm heading back to Texas. The exhibit at Muir Fine Art Gallery in November was a huge hit. In addition to the art, we had great music and a suprise performance by the incredible Mr. Bobby Lyle! The crowd went nuts (especially me). Bobby drew names from those attending for five pairs of free tickets to the All Star Smooth Jazz Festival hosted by Brian Culbertson with a very special guest: George Benson (Y'all come see me at Moody Gardens to pick those up)! Since the exhibit was such a big success, we're taking the gallery on the road and doing an encore' showing at Moody Gardens in conjunction with the All Star Smooth Jazz Festival at Moody Gardens. Check out all the details below and I hope to see you there! Bettie Grace Miner ![]() Bettie with Bobby Lyle at Muir Fine Art Gallery
Bettie Grace Miner joins the Brian Culbertson All Star Smooth Jazz Cruise with an all new fine art collectible poster and jazz art exhibit. January 27, 2007 ~ Bettie Grace Miner and Muir Fine Art Gallery will present a collection of Fine Art Jazz Portraits including the artists from the Brian Culbertson All Star Smooth Jazz Cruise. The exhibit will be on display at The Moody Gardens Hotel and Convention Center, in conjunction with the All Star Jazz Festival, starring George Benson. Meet Artist Bettie Grace Miner in person at the Moody Gardens exhibit. A gallery setting at Moody Gardens will include framed canvas prints, hand embellished one-of-a-kind giclee's, matted/framed prints and unframed matted prints for you to add to your collection. All of the "All Star" jazz stars from the cruise will be featured in the exhibit as well as many other jazz greats. Look for the exhibit in the lobby at Moody Gardens during the daytime and at the concert the evening of the All Star Smooth Jazz Festival, January 27, 2007. 2007 All Star Smooth Jazz Cruise Poster by Bettie Grace Miner. In addition to artistic portraits of all the All Stars, Bettie has created a very fun 2007 All Star Smooth Jazz Cruise poster. It includes little secrets and surprises as well as a "hide and seek" feature where you get to find all the places where cruise host Brian Culbertson is hiding within the artwork. It's sort of a "Where's Waldo" collage featuring cruise host, Brian Culbertson. The poster will be unveiled at Moody Gardens on January 27th and one hand embellished canvas "master edition" giclee' of the artwork will be on exhibit. Muir Fine Art Gallery ~ Preview Night! If you'll be in Houston (arriving early for the cruise) on Thursday, January 26, 2007, please come by the gallery for a little sneak preview of all the jazz art that will be on exhibit at Moody Gardens. Have some wine and cheese with Bettie and Gallery owner John Muir-Lockhart. You can also see fine art (non-jazz) pieces by Bettie Grace Miner at the Gallery. The gallery is located at 302 Stafford Street in Houston, Texas. You can get all the details and directions at www.muirfineartgallery.com or call 281-497-8009 for more information.
If you're going to the concert, Pre-Ordered jazz art prints will be waiting for you at Moody Gardens to pick up. If not, they can be shipped to you. The artwork will be in very limited supplies at Moody Gardens and will not be available on board Carnival Cruises - so reserve your favorite art prints now to be sure you'll have the ones you want at the show and on-board, or for your own collection. Happy New Year to all. Thank you to all of you who said prayers and kept my father in your thoughts over Christmas as he battles throat cancer. He's doing great! And to all of the men and women in the armed forces, with special thoughts for my brother Bill and nephew Christopher, as they both ship out today, our love and thoughts are with you all ~ regardless of our political positions, we are all Americans. We'll tie a yellow ribbon for you! Photos are my brother, Bill Hormann and nephew Christopher Palmer.
