We worried that you might miss some of the information in these emails. Currently, there is no policy to evaluate the governance of the monies filtered through the regional center system. The Department of Developmental Services is not equipped to monitor the individual financial aspects that may assist in ensuring the funding is being utilized effectively, efficiently, and in the best interest of those with disabilities.
Regional Centers hide under their non-profit status when asked for information that would typically be covered under the California Public Records Act and the Legislative Open Records Act, among other statutes It is the intent of AB 2220 to require the Regional Centers, private non-profit community agencies that utilize public funds to provide state mandated services to persons with disabilities, to disclose information to the public under the California Public Records Act (PRA).

Mother's Day Facts You May Not Know
(you may not care, but these are interesting)
21,135 is the number of florists nationwide. Their 101,861 employees will be especially busy selling bouquets for Mother's Day. The flowers you buy mom probably were grown in California or Colombia.
12,854 is the number of cosmetics, beauty supplies and perfume stores nationwide in 2005. Perfume is one of the most popular gifts given on Mother's Day.
29,624 is the number of jewelry stores in the United States in 2005 -- the place to purchase necklaces, earrings and other timeless pieces for mom.
4.3 million is the number of women who have babies each year. Of this number, about 450,000 are teens, and more than 100,000 are age 40 or over.
25.2 is the median age of women when they give birth for the first time - meaning one-half are above this age and one-half are below. The median age has risen nearly three years since 1970.
