 Assisted Living Waiver Funds Available

The Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) was renewed in March, 2009 for 5 years and is no longer a pilot project.  The ALW anticipates that new, open slots will be available in March, 2010.  One of our contracted consultants is an experienced administrator who has successfully navigated the ALW program.   This could mean additional income for those who meet the criteria for funding.  Please contact us, by clicking the link below.  For a reasonable fee, we can assist eligible RCFE and ARF (serving people with mental illness) administrators to complete the requirements for funding.

Regulatory Issues - Please Note

Remember how we used to have some time to correct violations (except for criminal record clearance) before a fine might be assessed?
AB 978 (2008) required the immediate assessment of civil penalties for designated serious violations at community care facilities.  The bill defined violations warranting immediate civil penalty assessment of $150 per day, per violation until correction is made, as follows:
  • Fire clearance violations including, but not limited to, overcapacity,ambulatory status, inoperable smoke alarms, and inoperable fire alarm systems with certain exceptions
  • Absence of supervision;
  • Accessible bodies of water;
  • Accessible firearms or ammunition
  • Refused entry of an agent of the CDSS to a facility
  • Presence of an excluded person on the premises.

State and Federal Employment Postings

Are you aware that you could be fined UP TO $7000 just for NOT posting the CAL-OSHA employee safety and health requirements?  Now there is a cost-effective way to meet all of the posting requirements.  This is the no-frills (but nicely appointed) version of the poster you would pay about $89 for elsewhere.
