New for RCFEs
Check Your Disaster Plan

AB 749, effective March 1, 2009 requires that all RCFEs have a disaster plan in place that assures that the facility can be self reliant for up to 72 hours.  LPAs will be checking to see that the plan in on file.

It is important to practice and update your disaster plan on a regular basis.  Call us for assistance.

Adult Residential Issues
CA Budget Crisis

As of March 9, 2009, those of you funded by Regional Centers are taking a 3% "discount" with more "discounts" in the offing.  There is an opportunity to tell Sacramento your ideas for saving money.  Most regional centers have informed residential programs that they can do whatever they need to save money, as long as client/consumer/individual/participant health and safety is not compromised.

Please take a moment (if you haven't already) to help with data to be shared with legislators about the impact of the "discounts."

Survey for Regional Center Funded Residential Providers

According to the regulations, the cut should only be with the monies that the RC pays, NOT the SSI amount of $961.00.  Check your invoices.

Let us know your ideas for cost savings.  We are happy to pass them on.  I'll also refer you to the ResCoalition, which has been out front for residential care.
