September 2010 Newsletter
 
We would like to welcome everyone to Pam's Academy of Dance.  PAD believes in dance education that inspires young people to be the very best they can be.  Through proper dance training, your child will experience physical activity that will inspire dedication, teamwork and discipline to last a lifetime. 
 
We would once again like to welcome you to the PAD family; it is going to be a fantastic 18th year!
 
Communication is very important to us.  A monthly newsletter will be emailed to each family, posted in both locations, and archived on our website at www.pamsacademyofdance.net.  These newsletters contain very important information including upcoming events, calendar raffle winners and holiday closings.  Dates and deadlines are also important information included in each newsletter.

There will be desk staff available next week should you have any questions.  The hours will be as follows:
 
Morris Studio
Tuesday & Wednesday 5:15-7:00 p.m.
 
Channahon Studio/Divine Dancewear
Tuesday 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Wednesday 4:00-7:30 p.m.
Thursday 5:00-7:00 p.m.
 
 
The Desk Staff Hours will be as follows beginning 9/13/10:
 
Morris & Channahon Studios/Divine Dancewear:
Monday - Thursday 4:00-7:00 p.m.
Friday - 4:00-5:30 p.m.
 
Channahon Studio/Divine Dancewear:
Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
 
There will be office staff available in Morris regularly during the week between the hours of 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. should you have any billing questions or want to call or email with questions. 
 
 
 

What's Happening at PAD!

 
Classes begin Monday, September 13!
If you are unsure of your child's schedule you can log into your online account center, call or email the studio.  You can also check your transaction history, view upcoming fees and add classes in your online account center! 
 
PAD is happy to welcome new faculty members Megan Wollgast & Nell Heflin to the PAD family!

FUNDRAISING AVAILABLE:
 
For anyone interested in Fundraising, our first fundraiser of the year will be Butter Braid Pastries by Le Braid.  You can pick up an order form and sales letter at either location next week or the first week of dance during the desk staff hours specified.  The order forms and money (one check made out to PAD) are due no later than September 27th.  Orders can be picked up in Channahon on October 18th at approximately 3:00 p.m.  More information about pick up will be available after the sale ends.

Corn Festival Parade
 
PAD will have a float in the Corn Festival Parade again this year.  The parade will be on Sunday, September 26 in Morris. We would like to invite the students in our PAD family to ride on the float.  There is a sign up sheet on the front bulletin board in both studios.  We will be wearing our 2010 Recital Shirts with black bottoms.  We do have some extra shirts for those who might need to purchase them.  Please see someone at the front desk, and they can assist you.  We would love to have as many PAD students ride the float as possible.  More information regarding the line up spot and time for the parde will be available in the coming weeks. 
Corn Festival Performances
 
The Dance Co. Forte will be performing several times throughout the week including: Wednesday, September 22 starting at 7:00 p.m. for the WJDK Talent Show; Thursday, September 23 at 5:00 p.m. for the Spotlight on Grundy County Dancers; and Sunday, September 26 at 11:00 a.m. on Liberty Street in front of the Fabric Center.
 
We would love to see you there!
 
Our Corn Dog Stand will be at the corner of Liberty and Washington Streets.  Stop by and have one of our famous corn dogs!
Attire
 
Please make sure that your child is dressed properly for each class.  A leotard and tights is required for all classes except Hip Hop.  The correct shoes are also important. A shoe list has been posted on the front bulletin board in each location for your convenience. 
 
Shoes and Dancewear are both available at Divine Dancewear, which is located inside the Channahon studio building.  They will be open beginning September 13 on Monday-Thursday from 4:00 -7:00 p.m., Friday 4:00 -5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. 
 
If you would like to stop in next week before classes begin to purchase these items, you can do so on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday from 4:00-7:30 p.m. or Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
 
Please remember that all hair must be pulled away from your dancer's face.  A bun, ponytail or braid is preferred. 

General Information
 
If you find that you have to miss a class, please call the academy and let us know.  A make up class schedule is posted on the front bulletin board in both locations.  You can also find this information on the class schedule tab on the website.  You may make up classes up to one week after your child misses class.  A holiday schedule can be found on the PAD calendar on the website, as well as on the hallway calendars. 
 
During September, we may need to move your child to a different class based on level and class size.  We will try to make any changes as convenient as possible.  We want every student to be properly placed for the most positive experience.  Proper placement is very important for your dancer's progress, as well as his/her self esteem.  Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
 
Account information must be kept current in the office.  If your billing information changes, or your credit card expires, please make sure to call the office to update this.  All declined transactions and returned fees will receive a $25.00 fee.  There will be a 3% late fee on all accounts each month they are past due.
