Bula!
In June Dive West Instructor Brandi Farch led an adventurous group of 30 divers to Beqa lagoon Resort in the Fiji Islands. The group departed on June 9th from DFW to LAX and then hopped a Pacific Air flight for a 10 1/2 hour trip to Nadi, Fiji. We were greeted with open arms and pooka bead necklaces. After arrival we boarded a bus for the "3 hour tour" to Pacific Harbor where we caught a boat for the 45-minute ride to the Beqa Lagoon Resort.

The topography of the Viti Levu Island and Beqa Island was a sight to see. Lush green mountains as far as the eye could see. When we reached the resort island the entire resort staff was there to greet us with leis and festive singing. After a brief orientation we had the day to ourselves to explore the resort. It was amazing with rooms facing the ocean and decorative ponds in front of the garden rooms.
The diving was superb and there are several links at the bottom of this page to pictures the many divers took during their stay. Other activities included a waterfall hike, trips to the native villages, deep-sea fishing, ritual kava ceremony, and demonstrations of native skills. A very relaxing and entertaining time was had by all.
Our Fiji group had many celebrations during our stay. Five birthdays were honored, our very own Pat Dryden, Brandi's husband Chuck, three of our valued customers - Jody Fitts, Angela Parker, and Lisa Arneson. The birthday celebrations started on the plane and lasted until the end of the trip! Brandi and Chuck also celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. By far the favorite event was the wedding of Dan Blankenship and Stacey Tatum. Dan's Mom even flew in for the occasion. The wedding took place on June 14th at sunset in front of the resort. The setting was picture perfect and we at Dive West wish them a beautiful life together!

The trip was a dream vacation for many and we hope you can join us on the Wakatobi trip next year!
