The program can be completed in just two days and all dives can count towards an SSI Advanced Open Water Diver certification. To receive the Advanced Open Water Diver certification you need to have a total of 24 logged dives (incl. the speciality dives).

DiveAroundTexas.com challenges Texas divers to explore the great diving that Texas has to offer.  Texas is blessed with over 30 different incredible dive spots including rivers, quarries, lakes and the Gulf of Mexico.

The more times you dive in Texas, the better your chance to win valuable prizes and trips.

When you sign up at Dive West we will give you a commemorative t-shirt for your registration fee and on completion of the challenge, one ticket to the Awards Recognition Day on Sunday, October 2nd, 2011.

The rules are simple.  Get with your dive buddies and dive a minimum of 12 times in at least 4 different dive locations in Texas.  Se the Texas Parks and Wildlife brochure: 'Scuba Diving in Texas' for ideas on where to go.  After each dive around Texas, stop by Dive West and have us verify your dive in your personal logbook with the special 'Dive Around Texas' stamp.  Continue to dive in Texas as often as you like, the more times you dive the more 'stamps' you receive for a chance to win Prizes and Trips at the Awards Recognition Day on October 2nd.
 

Brandi invites you to go diving with her at Athens Scuba Park on April 23rd and 24th if you have enrolled in the Dive Around Texas Challenge or just would like to go blow some bubbles and hang out with some great friends.   $15.00 per day per person, $5.00 extra if you would like to camp.  Call Dive West and speak with Brandi if you would like more information.

This course, offered at Aquarena Center in San Marcos, Texas, teaches the fundamentals necessary for safe and efficient diving to ensure protection of the critical habitat.  The two day course focuses on The Edwards Aquifer, the Habitat, Endangered Species, Archaeology, State & Federal Regulations governing Springlake and Advanced Diving Techniques.
