Once again Dive West New Year's trip to Cozumel was a success.  December

30th, the first day of the trip Donna Mitchell and Ben Snapp were married at sunset on Playa Uvas Beach.  Congratulations Ben and Donna from all of us at Dive West. The group just missed an El Norte, which did cool the temperatures but they enjoyed three days of spectacular diving.  It was a newlywed's New Years.  Winnie and Dennis Moser, Kyle and Christine Turner and Donna and Ben Snapp spent their first New Years together all as newlywed couples enjoying Cozumel and ringing in the New Year at Carlos N' Charlie's and Senor Frogs.
 


Dive West has a lot in store for you this year.  We will be traveling to many exciting places around the globe. 

We currently have plans to visit The Bahamas, The Sea of Cortez, Wakatobi and our favorite Cozumel.

Digital Underwater Photography Class Begins February 21st

Many of you may already have a digital camera system and a proper underwater housing. As such, it's likely you are asking yourself how to take better pictures. Now a structured program is available to answer your digital underwater photography questions which means more fun and satisfaction in diving.

The DIGITAL UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY Program can be learned in the pool/confined water. This makes this a perfect "winter specialty" which can be done just before your diving holiday starts.

If you want to learn more about DIGITAL UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY, you can buy the manual or the DVD even if you don't want to sign up for the course.

Dive Control Specialist
Class Begins February 17th

 Dive Control Specialist Class

Dive Control Specialist (DCS). Divemaster + Dive Control Specialist equals Assistant Instructor. As a DCS you can teach lecture and pool classes with indirect supervision. By assisting an active SSI Instructor with open water training the DCS can collect valuable training experience which is the best possible preparation for an Instructor Training Course (ITC).

 

As a certified SSI Dive Control Specialist (DCS)

you can: 

  • Lead and guide certified divers
  • Assist SSI Instructors in the classroom, pool and open water 
  • Teach skills in the classroom and pool under indirect supervision of an SSI Instructor (except emergency skills) 
  • Teach the SSI Scuba Skills Update, Snorkeling and Try Scuba (pool only) programs
