By unleashing your creativity you can create news about yourself, gaining positive local and national recognition. Fully 95% of what we hear as "news" today was generated by publicists. You don't need a Publicity or Public Relations agency to get big agency results. Richard Berman is a former NBC News Editor who will show you how in this informative and interactive session. You will learn how to navigate the media arena to start creating publicity for yourself - the kind of publicity that gets the whole town talking, creates buzz, energizes your future clients and makes things happen.

We will cover these major steps in generating great publicity for your product or service:

    1. How to use your inner creativity to promote yourself
    2. How to approach the media (and the "amateur advantage")
    3. How to spiral a local story into a national story about yourself
    4. How to "piggyback" on national stories to get yourself called upon as an expert by the media
    5. How to find media contact information for free over the Internet
    6. How and when to contact the media
    7. Building relationships with the media that pay off time and again
    8. How to overcome shyness in promoting yourself
    9. Anecdotes on how first-timers achieved effective publicity
    10. Leveraging the publicity you generate to market yourself
