Presented by Michelle James & Tom
Goddard, JD,
PhD, President of The
Integral Company and founding member of the
Integral

This workshop integrates

integral approach into
positive action for real-world results in an
ever-changing, emergent world - applying
the principles and practices in real time
to professional and organizational challenges you
and your clients face. Early bird discount
through 8/21. You will leave with:
- Basic tools for breakthroughs in work and life
- Deeper connection to self/expanded
perception of leadership
- A transformed relationship to the context in
which you lead
- Discovery of your own creative solutions

Creativity: The Constant Invitation
Creativity makes the impossible possible by creating
a window, a threshold - the pathway - into what is
possible and what is next. It transforms perceived
limitations into surprising opportunities. It frees us
from our current realities and insists on new choices
and multiples options. Creativity doesn’t pick
favorites. It doesn’t leave anyone out on the
sidelines. It gives unconditional regard, and the
invitation to play, to all. It doesn’t care about job
title, educational level, socioeconomic status,
religious belief or cultural background. It is
there, in
infinite availability, for all to indulge, shape,
form and mold.
Creativity is the thread that connects the previously
disconnected - the bond that unifies that which was
divided. It
makes the internal external, the imagined real, and
the dreamed actualized. Creativity is what brings
concepts and passions and soul-stirrings to
life.
It bridges and transcends worlds. It solves problems,
expands possibilities, heightens awareness, and
animates life. Creativity is giving, nurturing,
generative and expansive. It moves us towards more
freedom and guides us into more of oursleves. It is
a diplomat, a healer, a communicator, and a sage.
The essence of being human, it
invites us to be whole.

Waterfalls and the Brain
A couple of years ago I read a book written by a
brain researcher who discovered how profoundly
physical environments influence brain function. They
would measure brain usage and activation in
different environmental settings. From that
research, they developed a spectrum of
environmentally-influenced intelligence, ranging
from most conducive to least. They found people were
most creative - using more of their brain - next to
rolling
waterfalls, mainly due to charge of the negative
ions in the air. In
contrast, they were least stimulated into original
thought in a room in an office building
that has no windows, no natural air, and no natural
lighting. Therefore, if you can't get to a
waterfall, research suggests fountains
are the next best thing in an
office to get the creative juices flowing.
