Bill Smith, PhD, has created a new more holistic approach to leadership and organization called AIC - for Appreciation, Influence and Control - which are three power fields created by our purpose. His book on the approach The Creative Power of Purpose, co-authored with his wife Elizabeth Davis, PhD, will be published by Routledge next year.

In this interactive workshop, Bill will demonstrate how and why we do not use all the power available to us and he will give us a creative experience of the three power fields. He will also show us, through the use of the latest version of a Power Map based on color preferences, how we currently use those three powers in our own lives. He will then demonstrate how we can become more “power-full” by using the AIC process for any of our life, career, or work purposes.

Dr. Bill Smith is an innovative thinker and practitioner in the field of leadership, organization and social development. He is currently Director of ODII and an adjunct professor at GWU’s department of Organizational Sciences where he teaches leadership, power and politics, and systems thinking. Bill has created and implemented new approaches to leadership and organization for multinational companies, for governments, the United Nations and the World Bank in many parts of the world.
