Michelle James just returned from the Applied
Improvisation Conference (
www.appliedimprov.net) in New York City,
exponentially inspired about applying improvisational
theater principles, techniques, and ways of being for
personal, organizational and social change. She
played much, learned more and deepened her
understandings which she is excited to share and
experiment with in real time. This session will be an
exploration into
the act of discovery and working in the unknown
through improvisation. We
will explore using improvisation in making the
mundane mythic, telling stories in new ways, and
playing around with possibilities - applicable to the
workplace and life. We'll be spending more time
experiencing than talking about the experience in this
fun and highly interactive session.
Come
ready to engage fully and leave pre-conceived
expectations at the
door - who knows what will emerge! Note: we'll start
on time and do warm-ups designed to get the group
connected and comfortable (which is hard to
generate if you miss the beginning).
Michelle James is a business creativity
catalyst and a performer of full-length improvised
plays with Precipice Improvisational Theater
Company. She uses improv with creativity,
communications and change initiatives within
organizations and offers public workshops on
facilitation using improv, improv for innovation, and
improv for the spirit among others. She founded
Quantum Leap Theater - business theater
using
improv and scriped scenarios for news ways of
thinking, innovating and inter-relating.
