LOW-INCOME ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally-funded program that helps low-income households with home heating costs.  Community Action Team (CAT) distributes LIHEAP funds in our area.  To schedule a LIHEAP appointment with CAT, call (503) 366-6582.

PUD Low-Income Assistance Programs
The PUD also offers two low-income assistance programs - the Neighbor's GLOW Fund and the Special Waiver:
  • GLOW provides emergency assistance to low-income PUD customers who are behind in their payments and in danger of having their electric service disconnected.
  • The Special Waiver Program waives the $7 monthly customer charge for low-income households.

USE STANDBY GENERATORS SAFELY
Woman plugging in GenerLinkGenerLink Transfer Switches: Safety & Convenience

Standby generators are helpful during outages, but if connected improperly they can send electricity onto the power lines, seriously injuring or killing our linemen who are working to restore power.

A GenerLink Transfer Switch keeps your generator from energizing the power lines.  It also makes using a standby generator more convenient, allowing you to operating lighting and appliances much liek when the power is on.
We offer GenerLink Transfer Switch service for $7.95 a month.  GenerLink can be installed by a PUD serviceman in about an hour.

To learn more about GenerLink, contact our Energy Experts at (503) 366-5470 or experts@crpud.org.
