March  2010
Greetings!

We have much to report as March draws to a close.

With most Mercedes-Benz spies hunting for an undisguised SLS Roadster, AMG pulls a fast one and surprises us all with a competition edition of the new Gullwing, the GT3. We've got images and details to share.

North America's two leading auction houses, Gooding & Company and RM, both completed successful sales during the Amelia Island Concours weekend. Sales rates and prices were strong and we present the Mercedes-Benz results of each.

One of the standouts at Gooding was the one-off 300c station wagon specially constructed by Binz for one of the Silver Star's wealthy clients in 1956. You must have a look at this sumptuous and supremely regal wagon.

And we present a more contemporary (and affordable) classic, our spotless 13k mile 1999 SL500. Essentially as new, this black sport edition would be the ideal transport to any classic car event, and the symphony as well!

Please enjoy our 59th newsletter.

Auction Action: Amelia Island Mercedes Results
The auction season rolls on. Gooding & Company joined RM at this year's Amelia Island weekend. Results were encouraging with some very interesting Mercedes changing hands. A rare one-off 300c wowed the crowds.

A Most Unique 1956 300c Station Wagon by Binz
Many Mercedes enthusiasts are familiar with the Fintail wagons and and other commercial vehicles constructed by body builder Binz. But a 300c 'Adenauer" wagon? We didn't know it existed!

SLS AMG GT3: New Gullwing joins the FIA GT3 Fray
Mercedes-Benz and AMG have yet to deliver a new SLS AMG Gullwing. But the variants are multiplying. We have another alternative to the standard Gullwing and upcoming Roadster - a competition GT3 edition. It's spectacular.

Featured Listing: A Museum Quality 1999 SL500 w/13,000 miles!
Let's talk about value here. A fully equipped 1999 SL500 cost about $94,000 new in 1999. Here we present an almost new (13,000 miles) fully optioned 1999 example for about $24k. Quite a value!
