Local Outreach |
ThriftSmart Success!
Once again, on Sunday, January 13, the people of Bethany exhibited tremendous generosity. According to Dave Chapman, the last box of donations had to be split up and stuffed into whatever small spaces could be found in the truck. "We couldn't have taken one more item," Chapman said. Not only that, he applauds the quality of goods donated and offers his heartfelt thanks. And thanks from the Community Outreach team for your generous donations as well as the help several of you provided to load the truck. You're the best!
Coming March 9-Community Outreach Sunday
On Sunday, March 9, the people of Bethany will have an opportunity to browse booths in search of just the right ministry to serve with their talents, abilities and desires. So many good things are happening on our campus and in our community and ministry representatives are excited about the opportunity to share them with you. Come prepared to spend a half hour or so.
If you are looking for suggestions on matching your passion with a service opportunity, please feel free to contact Bethany's Community Outreach Ministries Director, Peggy Levesque at plevesque@bethanycc.com.

Sons of Singes
The Sons of Singles (S.O.S.) ministry provides male Christian role models for sons of single parent households. These boys typically have limited or no in-person contact with their fathers or other adult males. Two times a month, groups of Bethany men spend time with these boys in a group setting to demonstrate what it means to live like Jesus in the real world. They meet to talk about lessons from the Bible, play sports, learn a new skill, work on a craft project, or just have fun. The goal of S.O.S. is to show these boys, by example, what being a man of God is all about. If you have a son age 5 or older who could benefit from this program, he is invited to join the S.O.S. group the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month, 7-8:30pm in B203. A parent or guardian must accompany the child to and from the room.
