Our Thirteenth Annual White Coat Ceremony took place on August 15 at the Michael F. Sorrell Events Center.

 

Fifty-nine students received their professional white laboratory jackets provided by friends of the College of Pharmacy and the University of Nebraska Foundation and took the pledge of professionalism.  Read more.

Julie Oestreich, Pharm.D., Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the College of Pharmacy, is in the midst of an investigation, much of which was conducted not in the lab, but on the road. Read more.

 

Kador receives award
Dr. Peter KadorPeter Kador, Ph.D., Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the College of Pharmacy, has been awarded the International Society for Eye Research's 2012 Ernst H. B�r�ny Prize for outstanding contributions in research that increases the understanding of ocular pharmacology. Specifically, the award recognizes work related to or applicable to glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, or related retinal diseases. Dr. Kador is the sixth recipient of the B�r�ny Prize.
Welcome Dr. Kathryn Hentzen

Dr. Kathryn Hentzen The College of Pharmacy welcomed a new faculty member on August 1, Kathryn Hentzen, Pharm.D.

 

Dr. Hentzen, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, is a 2010 graduate of UNMC College of Pharmacy and completed a two year residency program at William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.

 

Dr. Hentzen is precepting the ambulatory care clerkship at the Nebraska Western Iowa Veterans Administration and teaching in the Pharmacotherapy I course.  Her interests include chronic disease state management (diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension), tobacco cessation, and anticoagulation management.

Clinical Assistant Professors - Siouxland

Drs. Klinkebiel and Venteicher joined the UNMC College of Pharmacy faculty this summer.  The adjunct clinical assistant professors work at the Siouxland Community Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa and precept the ambulatory care clerkship.
