ASP Chapter Awarded
ASP Award

We are very pleased to announce that our Academy of Student Pharmacists Chapter was awarded the 2nd Runner up Award in the AAA division (schools up to 350 students) in New Orleans at the American Pharmacists Association Annual meeting in March. The Chapter Achievement Award is based largely on the patient care activities that a chapter conducts during the year. This was for activities during the 2010-2011 school year.  Congratulations ASP!  Read more

 
20 Years of RHEN Program

On March 14, Governor Heineman signed a proclamation commemorating the Rural Health Education Network's (RHEN) 20th anniversary.  The RHEN program has been instrumental is providing rural clinical education opportunities for students, training hundreds of healthcare professionals in Nebraska.

Jennifer Hickman, Pharm.D.

Pharmacy Coordinator - Ambulatory Internal Medicine; The Nebraska Medical Center. Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, UNMC College of Pharmacy

 

Dr. Hickman is an ambulatory care pharmacist in Internal Medicine. Her practice interests include collaborative management of anticoagulation and hepatitis C.  Dr. Hickman regularly precepts students and serves as the primary preceptor for PGY1 residents in ambulatory care.  Also, she currently is involved in a multi-disciplinary hospital initiative to reduce readmissions related to heart failure.

Clinical Assistant Professors
Gregory Peitz, Pharm.D, BCPS

Pharmacy Coordinator - Adult Intensive Care; The Nebraska Medical Center. Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice; UNMC College of Pharmacy

 

Dr. Peitz practices within the adult intensive care unit at The Nebraska Medical Center, where he is engaged in patient care, quality improvement projects, and educational activities. Additionally, Dr. Peitz has been involved in clinical research involving post-traumatic head injury induced seizures. His primary clinical interests include anticoagulation strategies in the critically ill population as well as sedation and analgesia practices.

 

Education: Pharm.D., South Dakota State University; PGY1 general practice residency at Creighton University Medical Center; PGY2 critical care specialty residency at The Nebraska Medical Center.

Nikki Yost, Pharm.D., BCOP

Clinical Pharmacy Manager, Oncology/Pediatrics/Women's Health; The Nebraska Medical Center.  Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice; UNMC College of Pharmacy

 

Dr. Yost was most recently a Clinical Pharmacist in Oncology. She has been with the organization for 11 years, completed residency training which included pediatrics, internal medicine and oncology and has previous experience from the University of Virginia Health System.

 

Education: Pharm.D., Creighton University

 

Memberships: Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association, Nebraska Pharmacists Association.
