Greetings!

Does summer break feel like it happened a long time ago?

Now that everyone is back into the routine of school and extra curricular activities, you might be thinking of putting your child into a social skills program.

Why Does My Child Need A Social Skills Group?

Our groups provide a safe place for children to learn and practice new strategies, and get feedback from their peers about how successfully they do. If your child has low self confidence, difficulties with social skills and peer relationships, gets bullied or teased, is often isolated, and has poor impulse control your child can benefit from our skills based approach.

Skills They Will Learn:

  • Being a group member:  Cooperation, turn-taking, listening, sharing, following directions, accepting and giving positive feedback.
  • Dealing with teasing and bullying:  Through the use of role-play, children learn a variety of strategies to use in teasing and bullying situations.
  • How to tell a friend you are mad:  Children learn to express themselves in a straightforward and non-attacking manner.  Using "I" messages.
  • Listening:  Eye-contact, facial expressions, tone of voice, nodding, asking questions and making comments, waiting their turn.

2 cups of epsom salt

1 cup of sea salt

1.5 cups of finely pulverized oatmeal

half ounce of lavender essential oil

Measure out the salts and mix them together,

making sure to break up any clumps.

A large, wide, stainless steel bowl works best for blending the salts.

Grind the oatmeal finely in a food processor or spice grinder.

Add to salts and mix well.

Add the essential oil.

Mix everything together well.

Scoop the salts into an airtight container.

Add the oatmeal and salts to briskly running water
