JTTW 030Our Vision for Central Florida
A message from Executive Director Joshua Vickery

Central Florida Community Arts is off to an exciting start in 2012 as we expand our membership, programs and outreach. We realized great accomplishments in 2011 and have many dreams to achieve in this new year.

New Year with New Members
Kicking off our Spring season less than 4 weeks ago, we experienced a family reunion with 200+ returning and new choir members, nearly 50 orchestra members, plus 50 of our newest and youngest members joining our first Children and Youth Arts season! Today we have more than 300 active members in our three Spring programs combined, clearly demonstrating the demand within our Central Florida community for enriching opportunities to sing, dance, play and perform. We are also thrilled to announce that Northland Church in Longwood has agreed to be our concert home throughout 2012, and we are extremely grateful to use this beautiful venue to showcase our work!

Community
Our performers, volunteers and staff love to connect and build relationships within our organization and with other arts organizations throughout Central Florida. We are passionate about giving back to our community and having a positive impact on the world around us.

Through the gifts and talents of our members, we serve many local non-profits and charities by bringing the arts to their events and fund-raisers. Last year our choir members performed for organizations benefiting children's cancer research, animal shelters and unemployed job seekers, just to name a few. Plus in 2012, our professional vocal group Legacy! will help the local arts scene with fund raising by performing in various community theaters. We have built relationships with established arts organizations including the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, and we look forward to new opportunities for community partnerships.

Joy to the WorldSponsorship
As a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, Central Florida Community Arts depends on your financial support and sponsorship of our vision. Your donations can help us bring summer camp programs to local children and teens, help us reach our goal of creating a performing arts studio, or help our mostly volunteer staff acquire permanent office space. If you have a passion for orchestral music, imagine how your donation can help underwrite the cost of instruments, sheet music and rehearsal space. Or imagine the beaming smile of a child when your donation helps a young performer participate in our Children and Youth Arts program. There are many ways you can help us continue this incredible work we have begun.

Joshua Vickery
Central Florida Community Arts exists to give every artist of every age the cultural platform to connect, serve, and perform and to advance the arts in Central Florida. Thank you for your continued support as we all strive to make Central Florida a better place!

Perform with Us!
Passionate about music? We have a place for you!

Our adult Choir and Orchestra are both still open to new members for this Spring season, and we would love to have you come visit and see what we're all about! The Spring seasons for both the Choir and Orchestra are non-auditioned, and we welcome everyone with a passion for supporting the Central Florida community through music.

Members aged 5 to 17 in our new Children and Youth Arts program are having a blast preparing for "Annie, Jr." this May!  Although that program is closed to new members, register your child or teen now to receive information about joining our Summer season! Children and teens spend time singing, learning movement and dance, participating in drama games, getting to know each other and generally having fun! Programs are open to everyone in grades K5 through 12th.

A Look Back at ArtsFest
Saluting our American Heroes Again

This past Presidents' Day, Feb. 20, Central Florida Community Choir and accompanist Jana Cotta presented an encore performance of Salute to American Heroes, reprising patriotic favorites from our hugely popular inaugural concert held in May 2011.

As a proud participant in ArtsFest, produced by United Arts of Central Florida, Central Florida Community Arts was excited to join this annual event and perform this free concert to honor and celebrate this great nation and its heroes. This journey through familiar patriotic classics and new arrangements exhilarated hearts and American pride for audience members and performers alike, and we eagerly look forward to joining ArtsFest again in 2013!
