 Epcot Candlelight Processional
Candlelight Processional is a special musical event held at Epcot on select nights during the holiday season and has become a cherished tradition for audience members and performers. We are planning to participate in at least one performance this season and should take a substantial choir based on initial feedback from our members.
You can perform with us! Come shout for joy! This event is open to members and non-members alike! To cover rehearsal, transportation and other expenses, the cost is $40 for Fall season members and $50 for non-members. As a special benefit, Disney thanks each performer with TWO Disney park passes which can be used on any day in 2012!
Rehearsals are Fri., Nov. 4 (6pm-10pm) and Sat., Nov. 5 (9am-12pm), and PARTICIPATION IN BOTH REHEARSALS IS MANDATORY. Disney has not assigned our performance date, but the complete Candlelight schedule is available on Disney's website.
If you are not a current or past CFCA member and are interested in the Candlelight Processional, please complete our contact information form and a staff member will contact you with details.

 Fall Season Kickoff
"It was like a big family reunion!"
Excitement was in the air on August 15 when CFCA kicked off our fall season. Returning members and new friendly faces packed the building, filling every seat at our central rehearsal location with roughly 170 singers and musicians. Central Florida Community Choir Directors Joshua Vickery and Jonathan Cole presented a vision of the choir season and our December concert, "Christmas Around the World". Central Florida Community Orchestra Directors Dr. Gordon Mason and Justin Muchoney, with their incredible musical backgrounds, joined CFCA in their new leadership roles and likewise met with members of our newly formed orchestra, kicking off their parallel season. There's still time to join, but don't delay! Great days lie ahead for Central Florida Community Arts, and we invite you to become part of the fun! |
 Celebrating Our Summer
Following our successful premier concert in May, Salute to American Heroes, there was no rest for most of our performers this summer!
Ragtime, In Concert
In mid-August, 32 Central Florida Community Choir members took to the stage in both chorus and principle roles, proudly performing the Tony award-winning musical Ragtime in collaboration with the Seminole Repertory Theater Company.
A fundraiser for the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center in Sanford, this production told the compelling story of life in America during the early 20th century, with illustrations of poignant issues of the day, from immigration, racism and politics to industrialization and social upheaval.
Cabaret Night Fundraiser We held our second Cabaret Night fundraiser of the year at "Put a Cork In It" wine bar, and once again this proved to be a hugely popular event!
Hosted by Andrea Canny, with accompaniment by John deHaas, Chris Leavy and Stephen Merritt, nearly three dozen performers took the microphone and entertained our guests over this two-night event. Bidding was fierce at our silent auction which included restaurant gift cards, theme park tickets, golf packages, and a wide assortment of other great items. All donations benefited Central Florida Community Arts. A sincere THANK YOU goes out from CFCA to our host, accompanists and vocalists who volunteered their time and talents for this event! We couldn't do it without you!
Fauré Requiem Wrapping up the summer season was Fauré Requiem, the first of our Summer Classical Series returning each year at this time. Elegantly performing the John Rutter arrangement of Requiem were 46 choir members and a 7 piece orchestra. Additionally, Requiem was preceded and complemented by ten solo & duet performances from classical French composers including Bizet, Lakmé and Gounod. |
