Will the real Queen of Sheba please stand up?
Last Sunday marked a special occasion for Micah Women of Excellence (MWE), as they celebrated their first anniversary and Black History Month.
The day began with an inspiring talk from Bertha Jamal-Wensah, one of Micah's youngest elders, who spoke about the great lengths to which the Queen of Sheba went to see Solomon's wisdom for herself, and how seekers of God find incomparable riches.
Fellowship and a meal followed, and the afternoon programme included a trip through history, with old-time hymns, baby photos and moving testimonies from some of the MWE leaders. One attendee said:
"The event was amazing! There was something for everyone. The seniors sang some traditional hymns a cappella. It was so encouraging to see them use their gifts and express their heritage in that way.
"The testimonies were so moving. Even I couldn't speak! These women were so courageous to share their life journeys so openly with us. I'm impressed by their courage and determination in what they have each overcome. They are an inspiration to many! Thank you."
