Hallelujah Party this Sunday
12 pm - 1.30pm
The 31st October is growing in popularity in this country as children go door-to-door in search of sweets. But this date also has sinister significance for those seeking to tear down God's kingdom.
Micah's alternative to Halloween, our Children's Church Hallelujah party, brings together children of all ages for fun and games. In the past children have dressed up as their favourite Bible character, but fancy dress is optional!
Bring your child along this Sunday! Please register your interest here so we can cater for everyone.
Men's Fellowship: Black abolitionists and freedom fighters
The name that often comes to mind when we think of the abolition of slavery is William Wilberforce. But the likes of Marcus Garvey, Drusilla Dunjee Houston and Frederick Douglass are some of the unsung heroes who spoke out and stood up for what was right.
This was the topic of discussion at the last men's social on 21st October. About 13 men gathered at Micah's office for fellowship, Chinese food and to hear about key black figures in the fight against slavery.
Here's what one attendee said of the evening:
"I learned about how much people did with no resources available to them. They had it stacked against them but they still questioned the morality of those in power.
"It makes me feel more empowered; more like I can succeed. It gives me a bit more knowledge that I can use as a stepping stone."
