Celebrating 15 years of XLP
This Saturday, 24th September, urban youth charity XLP celebrates its 15th birthday, its achievements and its work with young people across inner London.
The charity was founded in 1996 by Patrick Regan in Peckham, in response to a stabbing in a school playground. His aim was to create a faith-based response to helping young people to make wise choices and realise their potential. Since then XLP has grown to help more than 12,000 young people a year.
The evening will feature stories from Patrick, some of the young people, MPs and senior police officers. The Micah Worship team will also be ministering in song.
Micah enthusiastically supports the work of XLP, both financially and in prayer. Come along to support Patrick and the team, and to celebrate what God has done and will do through them.

Honouring our grandparents
We are very excited to be honouring the backbone of our society on Grandparents Day on Sunday 2nd October. If you would like your grandparent(s) to be celebrated, please contact the office for more information by Friday 23rd September.
A new era for Sunday Night Live
The next Sunday Night Live for 2011 is on Sunday 16th October, featuring V9 Collective and Gavin Holligan (pictured below). However, many of you may know that this event started more than ten years ago. Over that time we welcomed a number of popular gospel artists from all genres, including Stitchie, Raymond & Co, London Community Gospel Choir, Noel Robinson, Jahaziel and more!
These events introduced people to God directly through song:
"Sunday Night Live was the best thing that ever happened to me. You were blessed if you got a seat. It wasn't only the music it was like it was ministering to me. Then I started coming Sunday mornings, and inviting people to come.
It's a very good idea they're doing it again, because we want more people to be drawn into Micah. People have to find things that they're interested in, and music is one of them."
- Owen Campbell, Micah Member
The tradition has lived on. The last event was packed and people couldn't get a seat. This is a great chance to invite your friends and family - it could be lifechanging! Here's what Sharon Dixon, Micah member, had to say about the last event:
"The performers were outstanding! If you didn't know God you certainly felt His presence in the room! An amazing time of worship, fellowship and fun."
Book your tickets early - only 5 in advance (7 on the door) at the office, or this Sunday at the Sunday Night Live table.
