'Do what thou wilt?'
This was one of the sinister messages in the music and media industries that media researcher, Steve Campbell, exposed last Sunday in the Blueprint of Music Part II.
He explained how the origins of this phrase, taken up by the likes of JayZ and other music icons, is rooted in a philosophy which directly opposes God and the truths of the Bible. 'Do what thou wilt' expresses rebellion and the idea that man is his own god. As Christians we are to heed God's word. Listen to the recordings here.
Do you know any young people who could benefit from hearing about the hidden truths behind some of today's music and the things we see on TV? Do you know any parents who could benefit from gaining an understanding about what their children are being exposed to? Ensure you invite them along this Sunday, when he returns to talk about how some of these messages are making their way into ... gospel music!
A must see for music lovers, young people and parents alike! Link to the event on Facebook. Tweet your comments to @IheartMYC and @MicahChurch.

Church Matters
An introduction to Micah and the fundamentals of Christianity
Sundays 10:15am
Church Matters is a small group study over six sessions that helps people who are new to Micah to understand or revisit the foundation principles of Christianity.
Between sessions we read the Purpose Driven Life book , by Rick Warren (which looks at topics like: What on earth am I here for? worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and mission). During the sessions the topics are discussed. At the end of the study participants will feel much more connected with Micah and understand how they can further participate.
"From my perspective it was a good icebreaker for people to sit down and give a summary of where they're at and why they're here.
"I think the book is very good. It's a daily devotional, so it gives you an opportunity to read about what God wants. It's been challenging, it's been good, but you can feel the growth. I'm looking forward to Sunday and hearing what everyone has to say."

There is still time to join the class this Sunday, 18th September at 10.15am.

Founded in 1996 by Patrick Regan in Peckham, the charity has grown to help over 12,000 young people a year. The evening will feature stories from Patrick, some of the young people, MPs and senior police officers. Members of the Micah Worship team will also feature.
Don't miss this opportunity to rejoice with Patrick and the XLP team over what God has achieved over the past 15 years, and what He has in store.
