Reclaiming the streets
On Sunday Micah member Samantha Oliver called on the church to "claim the streets for Christ" in the wake of last week's fatal shooting of a young man she knew.
She reminded us that our battle "is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" (Eph 6:12)
"I'm challenging you to claim the streets," said Samantha. "Pray for the youth in London."
Here are some of the ways you can pray:
- Do a prayer walk in areas near you to take back the streets for Christ.
- Pray for the family and friends of the young man who was shot - for comfort and that real change will be brought about.
- Pray for God to tear down strongholds in youth gang culture - especially the fear, violence and forces of evil behind it.
- Pray for Samantha, Micah Youth leaders, XLP and others who are involved in youth ministry, and that God would raise up more people.
- Pray for the salvation of young people today, who face difficult choices and circumstances.
Micah Fun Day
Good fun was had by all

Micah fun day in Greenwich Park was a huge success. Friends and family came along to enjoy fellowship, lovely cooked food and a range of fun and exciting games such as rounders, 100 metres sprint, football, relay racing and the egg and spoon race.

Jadee brings Trinidadian gospel to Micah
Our summer of Caribbean praise comes to a close this Sunday with a visit from gospel artist Jadee.
Mixing urban music with a distinctive soca sound, Jadee became well known in Trinidad as part of the soca circuit, and toured internationally.
At 23 his life of revelry began to take its toll, and when his girlfriend left him to re-dedicate her life to the Lord, he eventually became a Christian.
He now uses his gifts for God, and has shared the stage with the likes of Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans and T.D. Jakes.
