The Blueprint of Music Part II
Following his riveting series exposing the hidden messages within the music and media industries in July, Steve Campbell returns to Micah on 11th and 18th September.
July's teaching focussed on the agenda behind contemporary music and imagery, but it appealed to all ages:
"I really understood what the media are trying to achieve when they put images on the TV, and MTV wanting to capture the youth by the age of 14.
"I'll definitely invite more youth, because I think everybody needs to be aware of what they're listening to and what they're watching."
- Summer Cowans, 14
"I thought it was very well presented and informative. It made me pay more attention to the videos of the music I listen to. It also gave me information about the occult, and made me realise the sort of things that can be presented in videos."
- Frank Okorafor, 18
"The event was amazing! My eyes have been opened, and I'm on fire to gain more knowledge, share more knowledge, seek God and His Word, and give God all the glory."
- Yetunde Omishola, Micah Youth worker
"I Iistened to Steve years ago at church. My children still remember the impact so much so that my daughter asked her youth leaders if this can be heard again! Amazing! She was so young at the time but the impact remains! Not to be missed this time!"
- Sharon Dixon, Micah parent

Wasted talent
Shaherah Jordan, blogger, sports journalist and national league volleyball player, has written about the recent riots. She points out the irony of watching a "massive pool of wasted sporting talent run amok in the streets."
She saw potential sprinters, rugby players, discus throwers and shot putters in the young people who were choosing to use their potential for destruction and "material spoils rather than personal success."
Could organised sports programmes help? They couldn't hurt, says Shaherah.
