What's Your H2O Solution?
We need your help! If you're an SCV resident, we are asking you to submit imaginative ways you use water efficiently. Your submission will earn you a chance to win prizes including a front yard sustainability makeover worth up to $5,000, courtesy of Stay Green Inc.
"We're always looking for great ways to maximize water use efficiency, and sometimes the best ideas come from residents," said Stephanie Anagnoson, Water Conservation Program Coordinator for CLWA. "This contest invites everyone to promote the efficient use of our precious resources. The winning ideas will be shared with the community to help everyone use water wisely."
Entering is simple: Create a solution that enables people, institutions or businesses to use water efficiently. Entries will be judged by focus groups and CLWA staff, and residents will be invited to vote online.
Click here to read more and submit your entries anytime between March 1-April 15, 2012. Entries can also be mailed to: What's Your Water Solution? Castaic Lake Water Agency, 27234 Bouquet Canyon Road, Santa Clarita, CA 91350. The contest is open to all residents of the CLWA service area. Winners will be announced May 5 at the CLWA Open House and a list of winners will be posted on www.clwa.org. Prizes will be awarded in several categories including grades K-6, grades 7-12, adults, families and seniors.
So, we want to know...What's YOUR H2O Solution?

New Logo for
Family of Water Suppliers
The SCV Family of Water Suppliers (L.A. County Waterworks #36, The City of Santa Clarita, Castaic Lake Water Agency, Newhall County Water District, Santa Clarita Water Division and Valencia Water Company) are committed to reducing water use in the Santa Clarita Valley to create a more sustainable future. The Family of Water Suppliers recently held a call for submissions for local college students to design a new logo --- we wanted something to express working together cooperatively for water use efficiency.
Melissa Kuo, a student at Cal Arts, submitted the best presentation of a logo that represents water and service to community and was awarded $2,500 from The Family of Water Suppliers. Her logo is above and you can see her portfolio here. |

Fiftieth Anniversary
In celebration of our 50th anniversary, we are featuring a historic photo each month.
In 1967, Interstate 5 is completed through the Santa Clarita Valley. The master planned community of Valencia is dedicated and construction begins; tract homes sell for $25,000.
