Water Conservation Tip
Planning Your Spring Garden
Now is the perfect time to start planning your garden!
In the semi-arid climate of the Santa Clarita Valley, the plants you choose to establish must be able to tolerate drought conditions and temperature extremes. Check out CLWA's and the City's new plant book Colorful Landscapes for Water Conservation for a list of Santa Clarita-friendly plants. This is an excellent tool to bring with you to local nurseries while you shop for plants. To read more, click here.

CLWA's Water Expert:
Dirk Marks
Water Resources Manager

When you're planning your personal finances, it's always wise to plan for a "rainy day," when economic circumstances might require you to tap into savings to weather the proverbial storm.
Dirk Marks applies the same philosophy to managing the Santa Clarita Valley's imported water supply, except he's not planning for a rainy day. He's planning for the not-so-rainy ones.
