Middle School & High School Update

Dear Parents,

I wanted to greet you and let you know how excited and thankful I am to be serving as the Youth Pastor at Eastpoint. I cannot believe that it has been eight weeks already. There are many exciting things that are happening and many more things to come. I want to give you a brief update on what is going on. I want to thank you all for your patience as I get up to speed on all that we are doing with the student ministry.

Communications:

Twice per month we will be sending an email to parents that will inform you about what is going on and anything new that you need to know. Once per month the email will contain a "Parent Page" that is published by the Center for Parent and Youth Understanding. Each issue of "Parent Page" will keep you up to date with the latest youth culture news and information. The "Student Ministry/ Fusion" link on the EastPoint web site will be updated and fully working soon and will list all of our activities, information, forms, and flyers.

FUSION - Sunday Night Ministry
  fusion

Fusion is our weekly Sunday night program. We play games, sing songs, share a message from the Bible, and help students to build relationships with God, the adult leaders, and each other. We have had four fusion nights so far with an average attendance of about 45 Sr. High and 20 Middle school students.

Discipleship Groups

D-Group is our Sr. High discipleship process. D-groups meet weekly and are designed for students who are interested in learning about the Bible and being challenged at a deeper level. One group is a co-ed group that meets on Tuesday nights. This group is led by Larry Strondak and meets at the Strondak's house in Westbrook at 7pm. There is another group that will be for girls only. We are still finalizing the place and time for this group. We are planning on having a third group that will also meet mid-week and be a co-ed group, if there is enough interest. All of these groups are just starting or getting ready to start and all Senior High students are invited and welcome to attend whatever group works best for them. We will let you know the exact times and locations of the groups as they are finalized.
