EP Family Fun!

Our 2 by 2 Bible Treasure Hunt will take place on Saturday, October 29th from 1-2:30pm. Kids are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite animal or Bible story character. Your can be part of making this a great time for our EP kids - volunteer your car and decorate it in a Bible theme and, if desired, dress to fit the scene you've created. Then, choose your favorite candy to hand out. If you would like to join the fun, please e-mail Brenda, sign up at the kiosk or fill out a connect card today. Invitations will be available next week so you can invite your friends! We will also be taking candy donations.

Connect Cookout

Sunday, October 16th from 12:30-1:30pm

We will be hosting a cookout here at EP specifically for those of you who are new to the church body. Come, relax, eat and fellowship! This is a great opportunity for you to meet some of the staff, hear about what's going on at EP and ask any questions you might have. Please bring a dessert and/or side dish to share. We will have coolers in the foyer for you to keep things chilled

Discovering Jesus

This weekend: "Kicking It Up!"

by Scott Taube

Luke 10:1-24

1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. 2 He told them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. 3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. 4 Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.

5 "When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' 6 If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you. 7 Stay there, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. 8 "When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is offered to you. 9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.' 10 But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, 11 'Even the dust of your town we wipe from our feet as a warning to you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God has come near.' 12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.

13 "Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. 15 And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted to the heavens? No, you will go down to Hades. 16 "Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me."

Lend a Hand

A couple of weeks ago we introduced a new Outreach ministry at EastPoint.  This ministry focuses on meeting the needs of the African Refugee & Asylum seekers who need basic household items from furniture to cooking utensils.  Your response was phenomenal.  (Please stop by the booth in the foyer for more information on items you can help with. )

Immediate Need - Drivers

One of the immediate needs for this ministry is drivers who are willing to pick people up for church during one of our weekend services.  If you are willing to pick-up, drop-off or both for our Sat. 5:30 p.m., Sunday 9:00 a.m. or Sunday 11:00 a.m. service please sign up on a Connect Card, stop by the Home Essentials Kiosk or e-mail us.  We have approximately 25 people in need of rides to church.  Praise God!
