This inspirational study will help us become men of courage, honor, and faith- men who provide godly support and strength to their friends, family and communities. During this series we will take a fresh look at examples of faithful men in the Scriptures who faced real challenges and prevailed through the power of God. Regular sessions of Forging Men will meet on Thursday mornings at 6 am (a very manly hour of the day indeed) beginning September 22nd. (if you missed the first session, you can still come!) Last year we offered an alternative Thursday evening session and we are willing to offer this again if enough men request it.

Dear Carnival Volunteers,
Thank you SO MUCH for your time and commitment to the young body of Christ here at EastPoint. We had at least 750 people stop by for the carnival, many of whom were new to EP! We had a great turnout at our celebration services and are thankful for those who checked out a service for the first time.
It was because of your willingness to serve that we were able to pull this great event off again this year. We hope you look forward to 2012! =)

Our Current Sermon Series:

According to Luke
Discovering Jesus
This weekend: "Listen to Him"
by Scott Taube
Luke 9:28-36
28 About eight days after Jesus said this, he took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray.
29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning.
30 Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus.
31 They spoke about his departure, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem.
32 Peter and his companions were very sleepy, but when they became fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men standing with him.
33 As the men were leaving Jesus, Peter said to him, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters-one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." (He did not know what he was saying.)
34 While he was speaking, a cloud appeared and covered them, and they were afraid as they entered the cloud. 35 A voice came from the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him." 36 When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves and did not tell anyone at that time what they had seen

A couple of weeks ago we introduced a new Outreach ministry at EastPoint. This ministry focuses on meeting the needs of the African Refugee & Asylum seekers who need basic household items from furniture to cooking utensils. Your response was phenomenal. (Please stop by the booth in the foyer for more information on items you can help with. ) Immediate Need - Drivers One of the immediate needs for this ministry is drivers who are willing to pick people up for church during one of our weekend services. If you are willing to pick-up, drop-off or both for our Sat. 5:30 p.m., Sunday 9:00 a.m. or Sunday 11:00 a.m. service please sign up on a Connect Card, stop by the Home Essentials Kiosk or e-mail us. We have approximately 25 people in need of rides to church. Praise God!

Where are you originally from? I grew up on a farm in northern Indiana.
What is your educational background? I have some college education from Indiana University.
What is your career background? My first career was working with Arabian horses. My second career is in healthcare. I work in administration in the Department of Pharmacy at Maine Medical Center. What are your hobbies? I love adventure, reading, watching movies.
What is your favorite Scripture(s)? I grew up with fear and anxiety and in my walk with Christ, I continually read Scripture and pray for courage. This is one of my favorites:
