Join us each Thursday at 7pm at EP for the Young Adults and Campus Ministry Cafe.  We will enjoy some java, mingling and music in a relaxed, cafe-style atmosphere before coming together as a group.

After a short message, either live or video, we will answer some questions as a group. We hope you can join us!

Discovering Jesus

Series:

This weekend:

"Out of the Ordinary"

 by Scott Taube

Luke 6:12-19

12 One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. 13 When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles: 14 Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, 15 Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot, 16 Judas son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

17 He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coastal region around Tyre and Sidon, 18 who had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by impure spirits were cured, 19 and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.

Children's Ministry
Volunteers Wanted:

While we have been blessed with several new volunteers in Children's Ministry, there is still a need for help. If you can serve even one service per month, that would be a huge help!

Contact Alana or Brenda to sign up today.

Administrative Volunteers Wanted:

We are looking for volunteers who are able to drop by EP once a month on Mondays or Fridays from 9-12.

Also looking for volunteers who are willing to be
"on call" for projects, as needed.

Most of the help we need is on the computer but occasional projects are more hands-on.

If you are able to help, please contact Alana.

Love to Pray?

We are looking for partners in prayer for our Saturday night services. If you would be interested in coming to EP before service and joining with a small group to pray, we would love for you to join us.

If you are interested in serving, please contact Donna Pierce at donnapierceis@yahoo.com

Spotlight on John Regan

What is your role at EastPoint?

I've been here for about 6.5 years. I have played on the worship team for most of that time and was a LifeGroup leader for 3 years.

Why do you serve?

Well,it really doesn't seem like serving because I enjoy it so much.(I also practice everyday) I like what the Little Drummer Boy said "pa rum pum pum pum" "I play my drum (guitar) for Him,Pa rum pum pum pum I play my best for Him pa rum pum pum pum."

Where do you and your family live?
I've been married 32+ years all to the same girl, Bobbie, that I met in high school, 2 children Michelle and Amy plus 3 foster kids: Katelynn, Logan & Audrey. We live in Buxton.

What's your background?
I've been playing guitar since I was 15, started playing worship music in the 90's @ Calvary Chapel. Also play with Ignition @ youth events. Ignition is led by Chris Madden, former worship leader @ Eastpoint and with Jeff Crider one of Eastpoint's drummers. I've also played with 3 Days Down, Keith Parry and Ronnie Lee. We've had the privilege to play at Soul Fest in 2009 and have opened up for Paul Coleman, Bethany Dillon, Down Here, Seventh Day Slumber, Matthew West and the Wrecking. All very exciting but what I like best is hearing people sing along with us praising God!! I thoroughly enjoy how the electric guitar fits into worship. It can be very powerful but sometimes very sweet in tone. I love how the guitar can fill the room with a celestial sound but sometimes my favorite moments are when I'm not even playing but listening to the singers and those beautiful words in such a splendid harmony.

What is your career background?
I work for a private agency serving adults and children with Developmental Disabilities.

What are your hobbies?
I love to ski(but who can afford it)I have been involved with an Adaptive Ski Program so I get to ski for work!!, I love to mow my lawn, I like wide parking spaces and a great piece of toast. And I really enjoy spending time with my family!!

What is your favorite Scripture?

Micah 6:8

8 He has shown all you people what is good.

And what does the LORD require of you?

To act justly and to love mercy

and to walk humbly with your God.
