Greetings!
You may have heard the news: last week, Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine did not approve the summary of the Ohio Personhood Amendment. However, he did propose two options that would secure his certification, and one of those options actually strengthens our Amendment and will help us during the campaign! Praise the Lord! Our experience in the Personhood battles in Colorado and Mississippi have shown us that abortion advocates try to defeat Personhood Amendments through "smoke and mirrors" arguments. They promote child-killing through publicizing lies: they try to convince the public that the Personhood Amendment would ban hormonal contraception and In Vitro Fertilization and would criminalize miscarriages. All lies! Planned Parenthood will do anything to try to distract from the scientific fact that abortion kills a little human being. Fellow Personhood leader Coach Dave Daubenmire, who is in Mississippi right now working to pass Mississippi's Personhood Amendment, reported to me that this lie is so prevalent that some churches in Mississippi are reluctant to support the Personhood Amendment for fear that it would ban contraception! Your Personhood Ohio team has learned from these experiences. Our summary plainly declares that our Amendment would not affect contraception that acts by preventing the creation of a new human being, nor would it affect IVF procedures that respect the right to life of newly created human beings, nor would it affect human eggs before the creation of a new human being. Following Mike DeWine's recommendation, we will insert the wording of our summary directly into the Amendment. This will help insulate us against the lies of the abortion advocates and strengthen the case for the Personhood Amendment during the campaign. However, before we can submit the new wording of the Ohio Personhood Amendment to the Attorney General's office for his certification, we need at least 1,000 valid signatures. We need your help now to protect all children in Ohio! We've had four decades of legal child-killing in Ohio - why haven't pro-lifers ever submitted it to the public for a vote? Through gathering signatures, we will put it directly on the ballot. Print out the updated petition, take them to church Sunday morning or to a Christian concert this weekend - anywhere people gather - and get those signatures. It's easy if you follow our careful instructions! Please get the signatures in the mail to us within two weeks. Ohio kills 25,000 innocent children every year, and time is of the essence if we are going to get the Ohio Personhood Amendment on the 2012 ballot. Mail signatures to Personhood Ohio, PO Box 126, Dresden, Ohio, 43821. For Life and Liberty for All Ohioans, Dr. Patrick Johnston Personhood Ohio |

Press Release from the Association of Pro-Life Physicians
The Personhood Amendment Would Not Affect Hormonal Contraception Or IVF Procedures
The original Hippocratic was a commitment to never intentionally kill a human being, including a human being in the womb. "I will neither give a deadly drug to anybody if asked for it, nor will I make a suggestion to this effect. Similarly, I will not give to a woman an abortive remedy." (circa 400 B.C.)
After physicians in Germany were found guilty of experimenting on Jewish concentration camp prisoners in World War II, the Declaration of Geneva was adopted by the World Medical Association in 1948, which stated, "I will maintain the utmost respect for human life, from the time of its conception."
Adhering to the honorable medical tradition of "First, do no harm", the Association of Pro-Life Physicians fully endorses Mississippi's Personhood Amendment, which would amend the state constitution to protect the inalienable right to life of all Mississippians.
The opponents of the Mississippi Personhood Amendment have argued that the Amendment would ban hormonal contraception and reproductive technology procedures like in vitro fertilization (IVF), and that it would give personhood rights to human "eggs" or oocytes. These are insincere arguments that are as easy to refute as it is to read the one sentence of the Amendment.
The Amendment clearly would have no effect on genuine contraception, for contraception by definition prevents conception (or fertilization). How would a law that protects human life after conception affect contraceptives? ....

Quote from the Ohio Supreme Court
From Williams vs. Marion Rapid Transit Co. in 1949:
"If the common law protects the rights of the unborn child and if every intendment in the law is favorable to him, the inference is inevitable that such unborn child is a person and possesses the rights that inhere in a person even though he is incapable himself to assert them." (emphasis mine) |

We couldn't do it without you!
Without you - faithful Christians who love "the least of these" - the horror of abortion would continue indefinitely in Ohio. But with your courage and with your prayers, we will realize the dream of "liberty and justice for all" in our lives. The gates of hell will not prevail against God's church. Don't ever, ever give up! |

Pray for Mississippi
Mississippi acquired over 135,000 valid signatures to put their Personhood Amendment directly on the ballot. It has been a hard fight against the well-funded abortion industry, but on November 8, Mississippi may become the first state since 1973 to ban all abortion statewide.
Please pray for the Personhood Amendment to pass in Mississippi. The Republican and the Democratic candidate for governor both support the Amendment. Pray that they have the courage to enforce it if it passes.
Planned Parenthood caught lying to public about Personhood Amendment
Pllanned Parenthood - the largest baby-killing organization in the wordl - tells the public that the Mississippi Personhood Amendment would ban contraception. But when a pro-lifer posing as a young woman on the oral contraceptive calls Planned Parenthood asking if her prescription is going to be affected if the Mississippi Personhood Amendment passes, watch what she's told. Witness this amazing undercover video at http://www.ptsalt.com/.
