A Case for the Ohio Personhood Amendment
The Ohio Personhood Amendment simply inserts one sentence into Article 1, Section 16 of the Ohio Constitution:
"Person" and "men" defined: The words "person" in Article 1, Section 16, and "men" in Article 1, Section 1, apply to every human being at every stage of the biological development of that human being or human organism, including fertilization.
This single sentence restores the right to life, liberty, and justice to those 45,000 innocent preborn Ohioans who are unlawfully deprived of their life every year in Ohio's abortion clinics.

This is the greatest human rights crisis in our generation. Don't stand on the sidelines and watch. Ohio deserves divine judgment for the shedding of innocent blood in our land. Until there is justice for the preborn, there will be no lasting mercy for us.
Please pray, speak up, and help us protect all of God's children from death by abortion.

| Greetings!
The Ohio Personhood Amendment will protect the God-given right to life of every preborn Ohioan. We are gathering signatures to put the Personhood Amendment on the ballot so that Ohioans can vote on it. Why have we had four decades of legal child-killing and yet have never submitted it to the public for a vote?
We will amend the Ohio Constitution to define a "person" to include every child threatened by abortion. Unlike many pieces of legislation crafted by the pro-life community, this law permits no child-killing whatsoever. It protects all children.
Armed with the truth of God's Word, equipped with scientific facts proving when life begins, motivated by love, and strengthened with faith in a mountain-moving God, we will prevail in Jesus' name! We invite you to join us in the greatest civil rights cause of our generation. Help us realize the dream of "liberty and justice for all" in Ohio.
Click HERE to print out a petition and gather signatures for us. (Read the simple instructions carefully.)
Click HERE to volunteer or donate to help us in our mission of liberty and justice for all Ohioans.
Please this Email to your pro-life friends.
Heartfelt thanks goes to the leadership of Personhood USA, Northeast Ohio Right to Life, the Institute for Principled Policy, the Peoples Constitution Coalition of Ohio, Attorney Tom Condit, and so many other dedicated life advocates for helping us to find effective wording for our Amendment. Thank you so much. |

How You Can Help Now
We need more signatures! Print out the petition on our website, read the instructions carefully, and take several petitions with you to a Christian concert, to a local tractor pull, to the hot-dog-eating contest, to a local football game - wherever there's folk around that would sign a petition for you! (I'd skip out on the Planned Parenthood Conference.)
Ask your pastor to make an announcement in church, and ask him if you may gather signatures in the foyer or at the door when service has concluded.
Ask several pro-life friends to gather signatures to end abortion in Ohio. Pass out petitions to them, along with encouragement. Ask your local pro-life group to endorse the Personhood Amendment, and to join us in our effort to protect every preborn Ohio by love and by law.
Donate by clicking HERE. All funds will be used to get the Ohio Personhood Amendment on the ballot, and to lobby the public to vote for it. (No board member for Personhood USA or Personhood Ohio will get a dime.)
Please pray for abortion to end in Ohio. We know it's God's will, for Jesus said, "It is not the will of your Father which is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish." Let us pray with confidence according to His will, and see if He won't show Himself strong and give us our heart's desire. |

Personhood Talking Points
Be armed with the simple facts, and be careful to detect the smoke and mirrors arguments of our opponents. Always keep the discussion on topic: When does life begin? That is where the true point of contention rests.
"What about an impregnated twelve-year-old rape victim?"
"What about a woman pregnant with a severely deformed child who's a threat to her health and life?"
I respond to those objections like this: "What if I held an infant in my arms and told you that this baby was mentally handicapped, unwanted, unloved, was conceived in rape, and that just the existence of this baby makes the mother want to commit suicide. Would you argue that someone should be able to kill that baby?"
(The person usually shakes their head "no").
"That proves that the true point of contention is 'When does life begin?' Because if the preborn baby's not a living human being, an abortion is akin to a woman cutting her nails - it's her body, her business. But if the preborn child she's carrying is just as alive and just as human as the infant whose life you would defend, then aborting that child is murder."
These articles may help equip you for the battle. Remember there are many you will encounter who are suffering guilt from their abortion. Asking them to sign your petition to protect every preborn Ohioan may revive some painful memories. Be prayerful and watch for divine appointments. Never hesitate to tell those suffering under an unbearable load of guilt, "Jesus died on the cross so that you can be forgiven and cleansed." Someone's soul is more important than even gathering signatures! |
