The tournament features teams from Australia, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Mexico, South Africa and the United States. Niagara Wasps Rugby Club hits the links for youth rugby
nwrc

On June 26th the Niagara Wasps Rugby Club hosted an annual golf tournament fundraiser. Approximately 63 rugby players and enthusiasts hit the links at Niagara Falls Golf Club. The weather, facilities and company was outstanding.

The club members kept the day casual with the emphasis on fun. Bryon Grant is the senior Men's coach and a former Wasps Junior team coach. Grant was extremely happy with the day's success and the donation to the Niagara Wasps Junior program will be greatly appreciated. Bryon Grant and the club would like to build on the success and continue to grow this tradition.

The Junior rugby program in the Niagara Region was created when the Niagara Wasps joined forces with other area rugby clubs to form a "Niagara Frontier" team. This is the first year of this multi-club, which has built teams as the result of a cooperative effort from Niagara, St. Catharines and Grimsby rugby organizations.  For more information, visit the Niagara Rugby website, search 'Niagara Wasps Rugby Club' on facebook, or follow @niagararugby on twitter!

The 3rd Annual Boot Walk is a success
boot walk

The 3rd Annual Boot Walk in Thorold took place on the morning of Canada Day with gorgeous weather and plenty of new faces. Thorold's own town crier kicked off the event, with 112 participants walking 2km in their rubber boots.

Although Niagara missed the goal of setting a new Guinness World Record for the most people to walk this distance in rubber boots, walkers did raise $1200 for the Niagara Life Centre and $5400 for Community Care.  Be sure to attend next year as Niagara goes for the record one more time!
