
4th of July - It is all happening in Windsor Heights
Celebrate the 4th of July on Monday, July 4 in Windsor Heights, "where it is all happening." The event begins at 3 pm with a parade. The parade, an integral part of the Windsor Heights Independence Day tradition, is known to be the area's most popular with participants handing out candy along the route. The parade starts at 73rd and Hickman, follows 73rd south to University, travels east to 66th Street and south to School Street and on to Colby Park where additional activities take place.
After the Parade, festivities continue at Colby Park, located at 6900 School Street, with activities, food and other vendors, and more. Visitors can relax on the beautiful lawn. The free musical entertainment begins at 4:30 pm with Crooked Mile, a popular 4-person band. Following at 7 pm will be the high energy sound of the Faculty Lounge. This legendary band is sure to make people want to dance. The Celebration will once again conclude with a rousing show of the finest fireworks in the area. Additionally, a face painter, balloon animal maker, and jugglers will all pay visits.
Giant Inflatable play structures will be available for kids to enjoy. There will also be a rock climbing wall. The fee is $10 per child for unlimited usage for the day. All other activities will be free.

The July 4th Celebration is sponsored by the City of Windsor Heights with support from teh Windsor Heights Foundation and Lions Club. The Windsor Heights Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the Bingo.
