4th of July - It is all happening in Windsor Heights

Celebrate the 4th of July on Monday, July 4 in Windsor Heights, "where it is all happening."   The event begins at 3 pm with a parade.   The parade, an integral part of the Windsor Heights Independence Day tradition, is known to be the area's most popular with participants handing out candy along the route.  The parade starts at 73rd and Hickman, follows 73rd south to University, travels east to 66th Street and south to School Street and on to Colby Park where additional activities take place.

After the Parade, festivities continue at Colby Park, located at 6900 School Street, with activities, food and other vendors, and more.  Visitors can relax on the beautiful lawn.  The free musical entertainment begins at 4:30 pm with Crooked Mile, a popular 4-person band.  Following at 7 pm will be the high energy sound of the Faculty Lounge.  This legendary band is sure to make people want to dance.  The Celebration will once again conclude with a rousing show of the finest fireworks in the area.  Additionally, a face painter, balloon animal maker, and jugglers will all pay visits.

JULY 4th NEEDS YOUR VOLUNTEER HELP!
The Windsor Heights July 4th celebration is always a family favorite, but the celebration cannot take place without volunteers. You may sign up to volunteer by calling Tracy at 645-6821 or e-mailing tlevine@ windsorheights.org. Feel free to bring your friends, family members, coworkers, workout partners and roommates.
