Household hazardous Drop Off:
October 30 is last western suburb hazardous waste drop off event of the year. Clive Aquatics Center will be the location of the fourth and final western suburb MWA Clean Up Crew event this year. On October 30, residents throughout the greater metro area can drop off their household hazardous waste between 8 a.m. and 12 noon. Residents can bring hazardous waste they would normally bring to the Regional Collection Center in Bondurant, with the exception of latex paints and electronic waste. This year's western suburb events were coordinated among the communities to be open to all residents. They have been extremely successful, keeping 5 times as much hazardous waste out of the landfill compared to last year. This success means MWA's Board of Directors will be considering locations to host a more permanent drop off sitein the western suburbs to capture this waste in the future.
