Early Education Care (EEC) Contract
In February 2010, Mass211 was awarded a grant from EEC for the period of Feburary 15 - June 30, 2010 to provide statewide Information and Referral regarding childcare. Clients looking for center based, family based and after-school childcare can get information by calling 211. The specialist confirms the caller's eligibility for the voucher program and if eligible, a referral is made to the most convenient office for the caller to apply. Specialists follow-up with the constiuent a few days later by conducting a survey to assess their success in finding childcare.
Tips on looking for quality providers, information on applying for vouchers, and tips for parents are available through 211.

Community Outreach
Efforts continue across the state to herald the Mass211 Call Center as the place to call for resources that help with health and human services. United Ways across the state are partnering to "get the word out" and increase the visibility of 211. Newspaper articles, radio programs, and community groups are engaged in outreaching to the public and clients. Great efforts have made it possible to add hundreds of new programs to the database from the Cape to Central Mass to the Berkshires.
Informational packets are being distributed to all Emergency Managment Directors (EMD) in towns and cities across the Commonwealth in the month of March. EMD's will have the opportunity to partner with 211 and provide localized emergency information to their residents.
We continue to work with localized groups to share existing database information. |
