Celebration on Independence Mall; Ryan Manion Borek to be Honored as 2012 Patriot of the Year
Philadelphia (July 4, 2012) - The Independence Hall Tea Party Association
will host its 4th annual July 4th celebration on Independence Mall, today,
1-3 PM, with an array of speakers, including noted author and commentator, Pamela Geller, and WPHT talk show host, Dom Giordano.
Due to weather and other considerations, the event has been moved from its traditional outdoor setting to the Independence Visitor Center Ballroom, 6th and Market Streets.
The celebration will include an awards ceremony, honoring Ryan Manion Borek as the 2012 Patriot of the Year.
Last year's winner, Joey Vento, proudly accepted the award in his customary colorful style. It was of one of Mr. Vento's final public appearances as he died of a sudden heart attack the following month.
The Association will also present American Sheepdog founder, Rich Davis, with the 2012 George Washington Leadership Award and four other individuals from the tri-state region will be share the honor of Betsy Ross Activist of the Year.
There will also be a panel discussion on the SCOTUS ObamaCare ruling with experts from around the region.
Other speakers include WPHT Talk Show Host, Gary R'nel; DE Small Businesswoman of the Year and candidate for Lt. Governor, Sher Valenzuela; WDEL Talk Show Host, Rick Jensen; Iraqi War Veteran and Congressional candidate (PA-2), Robert Mansfield; Political Analyst and Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Institute, Ed Turzanski.
