Association Calls on Eric Holder to Resign for Role in
Fast & Furious Cover-up;
Says the Administration Must be Hiding Something of Consequence
Philadelphia, PA (June 27, 2012) -- The President of the Independence Hall Tea Party Association has called upon US Attorney General Eric Holder to resign for his refusal to turnover congressionally subpoenaed documents that reportedly shed light on the Obama Administration's role in the Fast and Furious scandal in which a border patrol agent and numerous Mexicans were murdered.
Mr. Holder is expected to become the first US Attorney General to be held in contempt of Congress after a vote by the full House of Representatives sometime on Thursday.
"The Obama Administration seems to hold the the judicial and legislative branches of government in disdain," said Association President, Teri Adams.
"From his recent remarks questioning the authority of the Federal bench to his executive order nullifying a vote by Congress against the so-called 'Dream Act,' Mr. Obama has surely become the most imperial President since
Franklin Delano Roosevelt."
"His claim of executive privilege in the 'Fast and Furious' investigation is a throw back to the Nixon era in which a White House orchestrated cover-up led to the first presidential resignation in US history.
"What is the Obama Administration, including Eric Holder, hiding? Certainly, the American people have a right to know. Mr. Holder is the top law enforcer in the nation. As the Attorney General of the United States, he has to put the interests of the American people before that of President Obama.
"If he is found in contempt of Congress by the full House, as he ought to be, he should resign immediately."
