Independence Hall Tea Party Scores Votes of Tri-State Area

Congressional Delegation;

Notes Role of Local Democrats in Ballooning Federal Deficits

Philadelphia, PA (March 30, 2012) -- The Independence Hall Tea Party Association released its first-ever Tri-State (DE, NJ, PA) Congressional Scorecard, today, and called out Area Democrats for exploding federal deficits.

"We are amazed at how addicted local Democratic members of Congress

are to spending taxpayer money," said Association President, Teri

Adams.  "And just how equally resistant they are to voting for any reasonable measure that would reverse the trend of runaway deficit spending."

"Democrats in this region voted against every major attempt to cut the federal deficit and balance the budget.

"In our scorecard, Congressman Rush Holt (NJ-12) was the worst offender.  He received a zero," said Ms. Adams. "And none of the other area Democrats scored much higher. Collectively, they averaged just under 7%.

On the Republican side, Pat Toomey (R-PA) received a 100% rating, while his colleagues in the US House averaged slightly over 70%.

"We were impressed with our area Republicans," said Ms. Adams.  "On

the really big votes--such as Repealing ObamaCare; the Ryan Budget;

and Cut, Cap, and Balance, they were on the right side 100% of the

time.

"However, there were other instances when some of them went astray--

and we not only took note of it, we scored it.

"But it's the reckless Democrats, led by President Obama, who are simply out of control.

"Just yesterday, the Democratic controlled US Senate, which hasn't approved a budget in almost three years (April, 2009), unanimously

defeated the President's latest bloated budget proposal (even

Democratic lawmakers couldn't stomach the President's plan.  It was one

of a few recent examples of Senate bipartisanship.)

"And in the House, Paul Ryan's budget passed, once again, along party lines.  It will almost certainly be defeated along party lines if it ever comes

up for a vote in the Senate.

"When will the Democratic Senate finally fulfill its legal responsibility and pass a budget?" Ms. Adams asked.  "On numerous occasions, our area

House Republicans have voted with their colleagues to pass a budget--

only to have it thwarted by Democrats in the Senate."
