Tea Party Marks 2nd Anniversary of ObamaCare

with Press Conference on Independence Mall

Philadelphia (March 23, 2012) -- To mark the 2nd Anniversary of the passage of ObamaCare (March 23, 2010), the Independence Hall Tea Party Association held a Tri-State Repeal ObamaCare Press Conference, today, to remind the President, Congress, state legislators, the media, and the public-at-large that nearly two out of every three Americans now oppose the enactment of this law.

The Association was joined by Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick; a spokesman for Senator Pat Toomey; several Congressional Candidates; small business folks; local Tea Party activists; and a former White House speech writer and health care executive to discuss the overwhelming negative consequences of ObamaCare.

"As time passes, the number of ObamaCare opponents keeps growing," said Association President, Teri Adams.

"Perhaps, it's due to the fact that the Congressional Budget Office now puts the cost of ObamaCare at nearly two trillion dollars--more than double

its original estimate of less than a trillion dollars.

"The Association has steadfastly opposed ObamaCare over the past three years, sending buses to DC and Harrisburg to voice objection to it--and rallying in support of legislation such as PA State Representative Matt Baker's HB 42 allowing Pennsylvania to opt out of ObamaCare and the Repeal ObamaCare bill passed, last year, by the US House of Representatives.

"We object to ObamaCare on so many levels, whether it be the individual mandate, the inevitable rationing of health care, the loss of personal choice in deciding health plans and doctors, or the skyrocketing costs," said Ms. Adams.  "We will not rest until the legislation is repealed--even if that requires electing a new US President and US Senate."

Ms. Adams was joined at the conference by Mary Ellen Jones, business owner and spokeswoman for the Delaware County Patriots; James Fitzpatrick, office of Senator Pat Toomey (R-PA); former Monmouth County Freeholder and Mayor of Highlands, NJ, the Honorable Anna Little; US Senate candidate Kevin Wade (R-DE); Congressional candidates Robert Mansfield (R-PA) and John Featherman (R-PA); former White House speech writer, Heritage Foundation policy analyst, and health care executive, Michael Johns; and Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8).
