Dear Members and Friends,
Sometime today, the Pennsylvania House is expected to consider passage of the Senate Amended Voter ID reform bill, HB 934.
Although HB 934 was a stronger bill when it originally passed the House in June, 2011--the amended version still deserves our wholehearted support. Thanks to State Senator Chuch McIhinney
(R-Bucks), the amended version also tightens up laxed voter registration rules.
The objective of HB 934 is simple--on election day, make sure that registered voters are who they claim to be.
On March 21, 2011, the Association, at the invitation of Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, submitted testimony in favor of the bill.
Since December, 2010, the Association has been working diligently on behalf of Voter ID and Voter Registration reform in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Currently, voters in PA and NJ do not have to present any identification prior to voting. (In Delaware, some form of ID is required.)
As a result, voter fraud has flourished throughout the Commonwealth, especially in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
Wall Street Journal columnist, John Fund, has written extensively on the subject in his 2004 book, Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy.
Obviously, fraud and abuse thwart the will of the people--and with the 2012 elections around the corner--we must insist on voter integrity.
If you live in PA, please call your State Representative and encourage
him/her to vote for the amended HB 934. Make sure to add that you're with the Independence Hall Tea Party.

Thank you for all you do!
