Dom Giordano to Play Dr. Rush in Commemoration of 1773 Philadelphia Tea Party
TV/Radio Personality and Author, Rita Cosby, and the Honorable Anna Little to Attend

Philadelphia, PA (January 7, 2011) --- Big talker host Dom Giordano will reprise his role
as Dr. Benjamin Rush in the upcoming commemoration of the original 1773 Philadelphia Tea Party  to be held on Independence Mall, 6th and Chestnut Streets, from 1-2 PM, on Saturday, January 8, 2011.   (The event, originally scheduled on December 27, was postponed due to a major snow storm.)

The 2nd Annual Commemorative Christmas Tea Party, presented by the Independence Hall Tea Party Association, will feature Association member John Peteraf as the adversarial Captain Ayers.

"While the Boston Tea Party of December 16, 1773 has been remembered in history, few people are aware of the Philadelphia Tea Party, which was held eleven days later," said Association President, Teri Adams.  "Nearly 8,000 colonials came together to democratically decide the fate of the tea which had just landed off the shores of the
Delaware River."

The family event will demonstrate how Philadelphians decided to handle the matter in
contrast to their Boston counterparts.

The Commemoration will also feature program booklets; a fife and drum; hot cider, cocoa, and cookies.  We are asking folks to bring a small gift or donation for our troops.

The Commemorative Christmas Tea Party is free and open to the public.

At the Post-Inaugural After Party, to be held at the Downtown Club (6th and Chestnut Streets) from 2-4 PM (immediately following the Commemorative Christmas Tea Party) special guests, CBS TV/Radio personality, Rita Cosby, author of Secrets From My Father's Past and the Honorable Anna Little (R-NJ).

Congressman Jim Gerlach (PA-6) has also been invited to speak.

Both Anna Little and Congressman Gerlach were endorsed by the Independence Hall
Tea Party PAC in the November 2010 elections.
