Help Prevent Fraud Campaign to Provider/Partner/Stakeholder

Information You Need:  CMS "Help Prevent Fraud" Campaign

If you help people with Medicare, watch for the CMS "Help Prevent Fraud" Campaign on TV and in newspapers in your area.

The campaign tells people how they can protect themselves against fraud by checking their billing statements and reporting suspicious charges. People should also report other suspicious activities, like being asked over the phone for their Medicare/Social Security number or banking information.  Medicare will NEVER call for this information.

People can report suspicious activities by calling 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).

You Can Help!

You can help, by making sure people with Medicare have the information they need to identify and report fraud.  Check out the CMS Fraud Prevention Toolkit for materials to help.

 Pre-existing Insurance Information

Many people who have been unable to get health insurance can now get coverage through the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP), created under the Affordable Care Act. PCIP is provided through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and administered by GEHA in more than 20 states.

Institute for health improvement Open Campus for students and health care faculty

IHI has an open campus for students and faculty on all of their course offerings for improvement in healthcare, a wealth of information and only for students and faculty, it is free!

They also have scholarships for current members of the healthcare field practicing in FQHCs, rural health clinics, etc, so while students and faculty are free, others that provide care for underserved populations can access it at a discount.
