Mentor Spotlight Lindsey
This month we are happy to recognize Lindsey Nelsen, 2012 Mentor Coach and terrific supporter of NYNY. Lindsey began working with NYNY in her capacity as College Relations Director at Macy's. Last year, she organized Macy's involvement in our Interview Day and Career Day, which resulted in two of our Fellows accepting internships with Macy's. In June, we were thrilled to welcome Lindsey into the 2012 class where she serves as a Mentor Coach to her Fellow, Peneliope. With Lindsey's support, Macy's will again be involved in our Career Day series this fall giving our Fellows an insider's perspective on how the company operates and exposing them to multiple career paths. We are honored to count Lindsey as one of our supporters and want to thank her for all of her efforts!

Dear friends of NYNY,
August marks the beginning of our recruiting efforts for our next class of Fellows! Our Programs team will soon be doing campus presentations and participating in freshman orientations. The Fellows application is now live! This early push for recruiting helps us to spread the word about NYNY to more students. If you know students who you believe would be a good fit for our program, please direct them here. Thank you so much to Jeffrey Zurofsky and his partners at 'wichcraft for hosting our very successful and sold out BBQ & YOU, a summer barbecue fundraiser for NYNY, which took place on Wednesday, August 22 at Riverpark. It was great to relax with friends old and new and to toast the end of the summer! We are also only a few weeks away from our annual Benefit! We will be honoring Sean 'Diddy' Combs (Founder, Sean Combs Enterprises), Raymond J. McGuire (Global Head, Corporate and Investment Banking, Citi), and Bruce E. Mosler (Chairman of Global Brokerage, Cushman & Wakefield)! This night is a chance for us to reflect on our achievements and to ask our supporters to renew their commitments to the movement we are creating together. You can find more information on the Benefit here. Finally, please join me in welcoming our newest staff member, Kristine Chin! Kristine joins us as Volunteer and Alumni Coordinator. She was most recently Program Coordinator at Apex for Youth. In her role with NYNY, she works with Allison Duignan, Volunteer Engagement Manager, to coordinate volunteer recruitment and training, as well as general volunteer support when necessary. We are excited to have her on the NYNY team! Sincerely,
PJ Kim
Chief Executive Officer
