WEEKLY NEWS

Hello Everyone!

We are back from our adventures up north, and all ready to enjoy the rest of the summer down here in Florida cooking up a storm for you!! A good storm!

We had a wonderful time being with supportive and like-minded people. Always a good thing! And we learned all sorts of interesting things. It is not so much a question of learning new things, as it is reinforcing, further understanding, and putting together our existing knowledge.

This educational trip did just that for us, and we're sure it will be to all of our benefit.

Thanks so much for waiting for us.

We are very happy to be back with you, and we hope you are all hungry!!

We Are Family

The concept of oneness is so enamoring. One heart. One world. One Peaceful world. One humanity. One human family.

Have you ever noticed how, when you meet a like - minded person, especially one who eats similarly to you, that you become like instant family?

That great song, We Are Family comes to mind.

Sister Sledge - We are Family (1979)
Sister Sledge - We are Family (1979)

"We are family, get up everybody and sing, hey! We are family. . ."

How can this world that we live in be more like one big happy family? How can we all come together in peace and harmony? And why do we even need to care about this?

We here at Wholly Macro think that we all need to care about this in order to create a more harmonious planet. In order to create the one peaceful world that was the original vision of our great teacher Michio Kushi.

And it starts with each of us individually. We are all in this together. We are all in the same boat. Gayle and Jaime in Kitchen

When we ourselves feel significant, we are then able to allow others to feel  significant.

Healthy happy people create happy communities. Happy communities create happy countries, and happy countries create a happy and harmonious planet.

Tips On How To Start With Yourself To Create A Harmonious Planet:

Become Less Able To Tolerate Inappropriate Behavior. You must work at this and not only recognize behavior that isn't harmonious, but be able to unemotionally call the person on it, and / or disengage yourself if at all possible. It is always possible, yet at the same time, it isn't always possible.

Make Positive Changes Within Your Immediate Environment. Live organically. This includes eating in a simple, natural, seasonal, and balanced way. It is better for you, and better for the planet!

Take The Best Possible Care Of Both Your Body And Your Mind. This just can't be done without feeding yourself properly. Find a good solid road map with clear directions on how to do so (such as macrobiotics / oriental medicine), and follow it.

Learn How To Disappoint People Gracefully. You simply must learn how to do this in order to honor your own needs. You need to look after and put your own well -being above all else. Always. This isn't about being selfish or self-centered. It is about being smart. We help each other and this planet the most when we are functioning at our full capacity, and coming from a place of sound mind and body.

First, be a better person to yourself, so that you can then be a better person to others.

Build a strong foundation for success by focusing on the positive. By focusing on what works rather than on what doesn't.

 Gayle and Jaime in Kitchen

Acknowledge the positive within yourself in order to build self respect and self trust, for these two key ingredients will support you well in making healthier choices for yourself, and in turn for your loved ones.

Food is one of the most direct links that we have to health, appearance, and sense of self worth, self respect, and self trust, so choose healthy food to create a strong mind and body.

A world full of strong healthy like-minded people creates a better planet.

The greatest gift we can give to humanity is our commitment to constantly raise our own level of consciousness.

Those moving closely with you, in sympathetic proximity and contact with you, will absorb your elevated consciousness and energy, and those moving closely with them will absorb their elevated consciousness and energy, and it will spread throughout humankind to create one greatly elevated, high energy, peaceful world!

I read a great article recently about a village in Africa where Israeli's are teaching Africans how to propagate their land. These people are all so basic. They are not disconnected from their food source, or even their food. They recognize that food is a primary need, and that it creates and builds life. It enables us to create and expand communities.

Gayle and Jaime in Kitchen

Food is part of our innate humanness.

Part of the article went like this:

"If you educate one person, that one person can educate millions. It may seem like a drop in the bucket, but with many drops, you can CREATE AN OCEAN!"

While on the topic of oceans, I have found yet another nice quote. The source: American Indian.

"Those who drink from the one water gaze at the same stars."

We can paraphrase this and say: "Those who eat from the one food gaze at the same stars."

And by the one food, we mean real food. Real healthy food. It is the only kind worth putting into your body.

Chemicals, preservatives, and additives do not healthy food make! Drugs, alcohol, and impure food and drink breakdown communication and create separation.

It is easier to let good things in, than to attempt to break bad things down in order to release them.

You can't let good energy in, nor relate to, communicate well with, or share with others if you are blocked by unhealthy substances or preoccupied by illness.

We can no longer contribute well to the planet when we ourselves have become too sick to care.

 Gayle and Jaime in Kitchen

Practice acceptance. Let life in. A clean clear body with free flowing energy and free flowing meridians, best gives you the ability to let the good in and / or release the bad.

Eating an unhealthy diet blocks this energetic flow, the ebb and tide of peace and harmony.

I read about yet another great concept recently called The Domino Effect.

It goes like this:

Gayle and Jaime in KitchenA butterfly flapping its wings in one part of the world can initiate a domino effect that can lead to a tornado in another part of the world.

In other words, even the smallest action of just one person can impact the world.

We may think that the way we behave in one area will have no effect on another, but in truth, it does.

Fragmentation is an illusion of the physical dimension.

In spirit, we are all connected.

And knowingly or unknowingly, at every moment, we are always planting seeds.

It is a question of awareness. Awareness of the fact that you have a choice. You can plant seeds of jealousy, anger, and resentment, or you can plant seeds of sharing, kindness, tolerance, and love.

Mother Therese said: " Kind words can be short, and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless".

The smallest acts of kindness can change the world.

I'd like to end this weeks article with a quote from one of my very favorite inspirational writers, Wayne Dyer.

He said: "You get world peace through inner peace. If you have a world of people who have inner peace, then you have a peaceful world".

One big happy peaceful family living in one peaceful World.

 Gayle and Jaime in Kitchen

In the best of health to you as always.

Peace. Out.

SPLIT PEA MISO SOUP WITH TOFU SOUR CRME                                   SMALL___ LARGE___
A thick, creamy, and nourishing puree of liver healthy and protein rich green split peas cooked with mineral rich kombu sea vegetable, speckled with dices of carrots, parsnips, and yellow onions, powerfully cleansing and immune system boosting shiitake mushrooms, gentle and relaxing mineral rich wakame sea vegetable, enzyme rich sweet yellow miso, fresh dill, and a garnish of tofu sour crme.

BROWN RICE AND BULGHAR PILAF                                                         SMALL___ LARGE___
Strengthening, yet energetically light medium grain brown rice is combined with cracked bulghar wheat, kombu sea vegetable, digestion friendly naturally pickled cucumbers, red radish, vitamin E rich sunflower seeds, and alkalizing umeboshi plum, to create this whole and cracked grain and fresh vegetable pilaf.

TEMPEH AND VEGETABLE COBBLER                                                      SMALL___ LARGE___
This "main course" cobbler (not to be mistaken with a dessert cobbler), is filled with sauteed protein rich and easily digestible soybean tempeh, immune system supporting shiitake and cremini mushrooms, sweetly diced carrots and parsnips, subtly pungent mineral rich turnips and rutabega, green peas, pancreas healthy kabocha squash, and a grain based biscuit like topping of rolled oats, whole wheat pastry flour, and almonds, to create a delicious cobbler like topping.

MILLET AND LOTUS SEED MASHED POTATO WITH MUSHROOM GRAVY                                                                                                                                     SMALL___ LARGE___
Surprisingly mashed potato like, but so much healthier of course(!), whole grain spleen and pancreas healthy millet, is cooked with cauliflower, yellow onion, and vitalizing lotus seeds, then pureed to a smooth, creamy, and delicious mashed potato consistency with calcium and trace mineral rich sesame tahini, then smothered in a thick, rich, and creamy shiitake, cremini, and portabello mushroom and onion gravy, flavored with shoyu and ginger, and thickened with intestine strengthening kuzu root, and a garnish of chlorophyll rich red blood cell building fresh green parsley.

PRESSED SALAD WITH PUMPKIN SEED UMEBOSHI TAHINI                     SMALL ___LARGE___
I never understood what a "pressed salad" was, until I mastered the fine art of making this ultimate salad. Any raw vegetables can be used, because they are quite literally "pressed" under weight, with umeboshi plum in this case, until the raw and watery quality is released, and removed, and you are left with the pressed/marinated/naturally pickled, rich in digestive enzyme, alkalizing, vitamin, mineral, and fiber rich healthiness of brightly colored red and green cabbage, yellow onions, celery, red radish, fresh apple, and collard greens, with a light dressing of freshly ground trace mineral rich pumpkin seed tahini.

LEMON MOUSSE WITH FRESH RASPBERRY COULIS                               SMALL___ LARGE___
Protein and calcium rich creamy silk tofu, is blended with liver cleansing fresh lemon juice, amasake brown rice milk, naturally sweet and good for the pancreas brown rice syrup, a hint of sultry vanilla, and topped with a fresh phyto nutrient rich raspberry coulis. A light and refreshing healthy summer dessert treat.

Here's some feedback from a consultation client.....

" three years ago I discovered that I had breast cancer.  I had heard of Macrobiotics years ago. I didn't understand the concept but immediately I knew that that would be the route that I would pursue. But where to go and who to see was the question. Thank God for reading the macrobiotic newsletter. For in the newsletter there was  an article about Gayle Stolove. I just felt her strength and passion burn through the page that I was reading. I immediately made an appointment to see her and although I was still so frightened,  I felt so comfortable talking with Gayle. Gayle  guided me through the whole process. I thought that the macrobiotic way of life would be boring and just eating rice. Well, I love the foods that I eat and I just feel good about it all.  You see, after the surgery, you are sort of left on your own.You have to make your own decisions, etc. Everyone gives you different advice as what to eat, what to do, etc. Doctors don't understand what the patient is going through nor do they understand what kind of diet they should follow. I adopted Gayle as my guardian angel.  You can't find that with any nutritionist or doctor. I love receiving her weekly e-mailed newsletters. They are so full of wonderful knowledge and beautiful healthy recipes. Gayle is a remarkable human being. She truly cares for her clients and gives them her all, one hundred percent of the time. Gayle has been there and therefore she is so compassionate and dedicates her life to helping people like me....."     a cancer survivor
