July 28 will be our last delivery date until August 25. We will be closed August 4, 11, and 18. We will send our August 25th Delivery Service Menu on August 20, thus resuming our regular schedule. We will bill through the end of July to close out the billing cycle before we go. When we re-open, we will add August 25 onto the September billing cycle. We have been announcing our upcoming closure and encouraging you to order extra food to hold you over for the past several weeks. Details regarding our travel plans / reason for closure, and our suggestions for how to store extra containers of Wholly Macro food while we are closed were included in the past two newsletters. If you need a copy of that information please let us know and we will be glad to accommodate you. Our assistant Annette will be "house / business sitting" for us while we are gone. You can reach her directly at 954-214-5403. She is happy to help! |
ABOUT THIS WEEKS MENU
This Is Our Last Week Of Deliveries Until August 25
It is still not too late to order extra containers of food to hold you over while we are gone! We suggest you order two, three, or even more of some of your favorite items from this weeks menu, which is pretty much totally designed with storage and / or freezing in mind.
The Split Pea Miso Soup is a natural multi-tasker!! It is so thick and substantial that it can be used as the bean / protein dish of your meal. Or, it can be used as your miso soup, and you can build the rest of your meal around it and not even have to think about including another bean or other source of protein in your meal by letting the Split Peas Soup multi task for you as your protein and / or as your soup. Split peas are seriously good for the liver. A healthy liver will result in a pleasant temperament, and as the final dog days of summer really settle in, it is not a bad idea to eat foods that soothe the temper!
The Tempeh And Vegetable Chive Biscuit Cobbler is another dish that will not only freeze well, but is also an excellent multi-tasker. This is one of those meal in one type dishes that contains grains (in the topping), protein (in the tempeh), and a nice variety of root vegetables (in with the tempeh). This dish would go perfectly with some Pressed Salad (which is coincidentally appearing on this weeks menu as well), or some freshly steamed greens, and Voila (please bear with us, we are practicing for our European adventure!), just like that, you have a healthy and balanced meal, at your fingertips!
Lets see, what else... The Brown And Wild Wild Rice Salad and the Millet Mashed Potato's are two entirely different versions of whole grain type dishes. The brown and wild rice salad will be a light and fluffy grain and fresh vegetable type dish, perfect for a refreshing summertime meal, while the millet mashed potato dish will be smooth and creamy, much like regular mashed potatoes but without the acidic potato-y starch, butter, and milk! The millet mashed potato's can actually be used as a breakfast porridge at breakfast, or as a potato substitute at lunch or dinner, so it seems that it is a multi - tasker too!
And the dessert: The Crispy Chewy Dulse And Brown Rice Treats. Have you had these before? They are so wonderfully delicious. And so healthy too. And we have to say: They are excellent multi - taskers as well! In fact, when we make these, we are going to make a few extra containers for ourselves, and will bring them with us on our journey, to use as a dessert of course, but also as a go to snack / quick pick-me-up. They travel well, they don't even need to be refrigerated, much less frozen, they will last and last (although they are addictive, we warn you), and they offer up substantial nutrition in the form of complex carbohydrate energizing brown rice, rich and fortifying nut butter, and our personal favorite, the surprise source of replenishing minerals from the dulse sea vegetable. This delectable dessert beats a store bought "nutrition" bar any day!
So dear friends, we bid you adieu for now. We hope we have left you with a memorable menu, one that will keep us in your thoughts as you enjoy the many dishes we have lovingly prepared for you these past few weeks.
Take good care of yourselves. The time will zoom by. And even though we really will be re-opening August 25, we are just going to attach that week to September, so that we can say: See You In September!
May your health and lives flourish.

JULY 28, 2011 whollymacro@bellsouth.net ~ www.whollymacrobiotics.com
SPLIT PEA MISO SOUP WITH TOFU SOUR CRME AND CHIVES SMALL___ LARGE___ A thick, creamy, and nourishing puree of liver healthy and protein rich green split peas cooked with mineral rich kombu sea vegetable, speckled with dices of carrots, parsnips, and yellow onions, powerfully cleansing and immune system boosting shiitake mushrooms, gentle and relaxing mineral rich wakame sea vegetable, enzyme rich sweet yellow miso, fresh dill, and a garnish of tofu sour crme sprinkled with fresh green chives.
BROWN AND WILD WILD RICE SALAD SMALL___ LARGE___ Wild wild rice, the uncultivated and powerfully revitalizing native American grain of our ancestors, is cooked with medium grain brown rice and mineral rich kombu sea vegetable, then tossed into a healthy and delicious pilaf with kidney strengthening dried cranberries, pancreas relaxing sweet yellow onions, naturally diuretic crisp green celery, omega fatty acid and power packed roasted pecans, chlorophyll rich red blood cell building fresh green parsley, and liver supportive and flavorful fresh orange zest.
TEMPEH AND VEGETABLE CHIVE BISCUIT COBBLER SMALL___ LARGE___ This "main course" cobbler (not to be mistaken with a dessert cobbler), is filled with sautee'd protein rich and easily digestible soybean tempeh, immune system supporting shiitake and cremini mushrooms, sweetly diced carrots, rutabaga, and parsnips, subtly pungent mineral rich turnips, green peas, pancreas healthy kabocha squash, and a grain based topping of rolled oats, almond flour, and fresh green chive laced cobbler topping.
MILLET AND LOTUS SEED MASHED POTATO WITH MUSHROOM GRAVY SMALL___ LARGE___ Surprisingly mashed potato like, but so much healthier of course(!), whole grain spleen and pancreas healthy millet, is cooked with cauliflower, yellow onion, and vitalizing lotus seeds, then pureed to a smooth, creamy, and delicious mashed potato consistency with calcium and trace mineral rich sesame tahini, then smothered in a thick, rich, and creamy shiitake, cremini, and portabello mushroom gravy flavored with shoyu, mirin, brown rice syrup, and ginger, and thickened with intestine strengthening kuzu root, and a garnish of chlorophyll rich red blood cell building fresh green parsley.
PRESSED SALAD WITH PUMPKIN SEED UMEBOSHI TAHINI SMALL____LARGE___ I never understood what a "pressed salad" was, until I mastered the fine art of making this ultimate salad. Any raw vegetables can be used, because they are quite literally "pressed" under weight, with umeboshi plum in this case, until the raw and watery quality is released, and removed, and you are left with the pressed/marinated/naturally pickled, rich in digestive enzyme, alkalizing, vitamin, mineral, and fiber rich healthiness of brightly colored red and green cabbage, yellow onions, celery, red radish, and high fiber, high calcium, good for the heart and liver deep green collard greens, with a side of freshly ground omega fatty acid, alkalizing, and trace mineral rich pumpkin seed tahini dressing.
CRISPY CHEWY DULSE AND BROWN RICE TREATS SMALL___ LARGE___ This dessert packs a powerful little secret, iron rich dulse sea vegetable flakes, perfectly disguised in a crispy brown rice, whole almond, almond butter, kidney healthy dried cranberry, trace mineral rich roasted pumpkin seed, grain sweetened-dairy free and caffeine free carob chip, and brown rice syrup and barley malt sweetened flour-less and non-baked really healthy, and really satisfying dessert.

Here's some feedback from a consultation client..... " three years ago I discovered that I had breast cancer. I had heard of Macrobiotics years ago. I didn't understand the concept but immediately I knew that that would be the route that I would pursue. But where to go and who to see was the question. Thank God for reading the macrobiotic newsletter. For in the newsletter there was an article about Gayle Stolove. I just felt her strength and passion burn through the page that I was reading. I immediately made an appointment to see her and although I was still so frightened, I felt so comfortable talking with Gayle. Gayle guided me through the whole process. I thought that the macrobiotic way of life would be boring and just eating rice. Well, I love the foods that I eat and I just feel good about it all. You see, after the surgery, you are sort of left on your own.You have to make your own decisions, etc. Everyone gives you different advice as what to eat, what to do, etc. Doctors don't understand what the patient is going through nor do they understand what kind of diet they should follow. I adopted Gayle as my guardian angel. You can't find that with any nutritionist or doctor. I love receiving her weekly e-mailed newsletters. They are so full of wonderful knowledge and beautiful healthy recipes. Gayle is a remarkable human being. She truly cares for her clients and gives them her all, one hundred percent of the time. Gayle has been there and therefore she is so compassionate and dedicates her life to helping people like me....." a cancer survivor
